@antoniogm The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco. That's my quote, don't bother looking it up.

NorCal/SF actually has the world's best weather. Cool and sunny in summer, mild in winter. You can hit a desert that will kill you and a snowy mountaintop on the same day, and go surfing the next day too. You can shit on the rest, but you can't contest it's a natural paradise.

multiples aka linear growth projections don’t work well on transformative tech that deals in exponentials and binary events. stop trying to see the world like they did 40 years ago. old valuation models are still useful tools, but this isn’t buffets world anymore of paper mills and insurance companies
Boring_Business@BoringBiz_

SpaceX IPO valuation implies a 93x revenue multiple and you don’t even have a P/E ratio because the company has negative earnings

@RepPatHarrigan You are dumb. You're afraid may mobility is going to upload petabytes of video footage of uber rides to China so they can ....what exactly? I have it on good authority the Chinese have satellites and detailed maps of the US.

May Mobility just took $750M from a Chinese-backed firm to deploy robotaxis here. Autonomous vehicles collect real-time data on roads, routes, and movement patterns. We banned Huawei from our networks because of national security concerns. Autonomous vehicles backed by the CCP should get the same scrutiny.
Bloomberg@business

Ecarx, a company backed by Chinese billionaire Li Shufu, said it reached an agreement to deliver robotaxis to US startup May Mobility in a deal it valued at about $750 million bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

@decampkev @nishkidoonoo @elonmusk No. Valuing the company. Longs on this name almost universally have not done the actual work on it. If you don't understand ML you can't own this name. If you don't have a thesis around Wayve you shouldn't own this name.

@decampkev @nishkidoonoo @elonmusk "variants". If they aren't the same model you aren't validating. Do you have FSD? Go test between even small releases. They are post training & simulating the geofence targets. These are no longer the same models.

They are and just had a significant update that hasn’t even rolled out to the whole fleet. @elonmusk partly agrees with you, ““I think it’s not going to make sense for us to deploy unsupervised FSD or Robotaxi at large scale when we know that there are major architectural improvements to the software that can improve safety.” Tesla scale is orders of magnitude higher than Waymo scale - of course it doesn’t make sense yet…

@decampkev @nishkidoonoo What is the market going to wake up to? It's already priced for producing >$100B in FCF. This will be a less profitable market than most are thinking

@decampkev @nishkidoonoo Tesla hasn't scaled because they aren't safe enough yet. You can run unsupervised at low miles and be statistically very unlikely to cause severe issues. That's what they're doing. The real question you should answer is why aren't they validating on the consumer fleet

@decampkev @nishkidoonoo Those Tesla figures are of course not valid safety analysis. Waymo figures are stagnating because you aren't accounting for fault and there's simply a floor you can't beat with other road actors. They can be safer, but it's diminishing returns...

@SenRickScott @sundarpichai Lol, so your argument is people voting in LA don't know that area was burned to a crisp because of Google maps satellite view?

@gabemonroy @Rivian In fairness arguably the most important software in the car is Google Maps and they couldn't sniff beating that

Rivian bet on an integrated in-car UI/UX instead of CarPlay and Android Auto — despite tons of consumer pressure. Their new assistant and native Google Maps experience vindicated that bet completely. Kudos to the @Rivian crew.

Two robotaxi companies are taking different approaches to training AI. Waymo builds a detailed 3D map to train its AI before operating in a new area, while Wayve trains its AI without mapping. cbsn.ws/49ariNI

@patriotpdc @Cyber_Trailer On financials you need to separate out the other bet companies. Waymo costs are SGA + R&D. Those are expensive, but scales well. They lose $ due to having only 3,800 taxis. CPUC data has them at ~$150k/taxi/yr in revenue.

@patriotpdc @Cyber_Trailer Bloomberg est is for the entire sensor suite. Waymo comments are too. You can do the $0.05/mi math. innoviz.tech/innoviztwo-lon… is non-chinese and ~$500. Chinese products are better and cheaper. "talk to each other?" No, pt cloud is projected and fed to NN encoder with cameras....

Atlanta, GA (MAY.14.2026)- This shit show brought to you by ‘Atlanta Uncensored’ on IG. The Waymo fleet first began testing in Atlanta in 2018. The level of operational problems does not appear to be rescinding. The Sunset Project™️ is very reluctant to add new hashtags this late in the game, but we will go ahead and put a fresh one forward: ‘#GroupTard#NeedIntelligence #NeedInference #ManilaWeHaveAProblem

The Mach-E is dead. Here’s why: It’s essentially an ICE car with a n EV motor. It doesn’t do anything particularly well anymore. Sure, it drives. But Ford lacks a robust EV infrastructure, so you’re forced to drive it like a gas car. Infotainment sucks. BluesClues sucks. Support sucks. I wish it wasn’t this way, but it is. It was a great option when it came out. But I drove one for a few days, and compared to the current offerings from real EV companies like Tesla, Rivian, and Lucid, it’s just another data point on the dynamic peaks and valleys chart to mass EV adoption. I hope their owners are taken care of.
