They sent me to buy salt. I got to the store, picked a salt from the bunch on display, and went home. I am about to go back to the store because my wife said that she doesn't like the $6.49 salt I bought. She showed me a picture of the $2 salt that she wanted. Some fights are not necessary. I am not even going to argue. Let me go and search for the particular salt my wife wants.

It also made me feel a little guilty that I do have a family. I don’t have a fancy job and title, but I get to wake up at 5am and go cheer my kid on in his hockey game.

I met up with a friend visiting from NYC. She is very successful, very cosmopolitan job, not married in her early 40”s. We were close when we were younger. She talked the whole night about her recent breakup with her longtime boyfriend. She broke it off because he wanted to get married and have kids. He was from a very blue collar family in Pennsylvania and he works in the service industry. He apparently has moved on and is engaged. She’s really struggling with it all and I felt so bad because I can tell she sincerely believes she has made a very grave mistake. It was great to see her, but I couldn’t wait to come home and snuggle my kids. It made me feel very grateful for my family.

What do you notice about America in the 1980’s?

@maintishe I see this as a tit-for-tat issue, and I don't blame you; you're a human, too, and there is only so much fake boasting one’s brain can take. However, I think their boasting is a sign of a deep-rooted inferiority complex. If you see them that way, you may begin to pity them.
