Many girls have reportedly been r@p£d and m0l£sted by men in Ozoro during what is being described as a “r@p!ng festival” in the area. According to multiple reports and videos circulating online, today is said to be the day of this festival in the Ozoro community, and girls are wvrned not to go outside. It is alleged that any girl seen outside could be att@ck£d and r@p£d by groups of men. Foreigners who are unaware of this situation have reportedly fallen v!ctim as well. There is Delta state university in Ozoro, and many female students may not be fully aware of the d@nger. It is distvrbing that something like this could be tolerated in society. This is heartbreaking, and urgent action needs to be taken.

Kandake Amanirenas defeated Rome in battle, then buried Augustus Caesar's statue head beneath her temple steps so her people could walk over it for eternity. She's one of 120+ African women history forgot to teach you. I built an archive to fix that. her-story-africa-seven.vercel.app

Lillian Ngoyi (1911 - 1980) was a South African anti-apartheid activist, trade unionist and women's rights activist. She began her political career via her work in the Garment's Workers Union of South Africa in the 1940s. She was active in the Defiance Campaign of 1952. In 1954, she helped to found the Federation of South African Women (FEDSAW) and was elected to the national executive of the ANC. On 9 August 1956, Ngoyi led a women's march along with Helen Joseph, Rahima Moosa, Sophia De Bruyn, Motlalepula Chabaku, Bertha Gxowa and Albertina Sisulu of 20,000 women to the Union Buildings of Pretoria in protest against the apartheid government requiring women to carry passbooks as part of the pass laws. Ngoyi would command the crowd to be in complete silence for 30 minutes. This march remains the largest women's demonstration in the history of South Africa. She was among the 156 Treason Trialists arrested in December 1956, and was finally acquitted of the charges against her in 1960. She was rearrested more than once in the early 1960s, and spent 71 days in solitary confinement in 1963. Ngoyi spent a total of 15 years living under three five-year banning orders, which included restrictions that confined her to her home in Orlando, Soweto, and prevented her from meeting any other banned persons. It's day 9 of me sharing African women who shaped the political and social fabric of the African continent yet you may or may not know them. Today we talk about Agnes Oforiwa Tagoe-Quarcoopom. Wherever Kwame Nkrumah was, Agnes was there and that is because she carried Nkrumah's cause on her head. She fundraised, mobilized her fellow market women for Ghanaian independence that the British have documented in their history that Ghana's main weapon during their struggle for independence was the market women. These women who were illiterate, never had a formal education, seemed only concerned with selling on the market. But these very women distributed information at large; mobilized communities at large and kept each other safe through different safe houses they monitored. Agnès's legacy is known for showing everyone that there can never be a social and political revolution without women. And women especially overlooked market and rural women must at the center of any revolution
