@TheChicagoPope @jbpslayer Walker had a pretty great rookie year considering his age. So it wasn’t really just “negative 3 WAR over 3 years.” It was an elite prospect with an exciting rookie year who then mysteriously struggled for two seasons.

Until this season, Walker was a -3.0 WAR player slashing a career .220/.290/.330 over 280 career games, bouncing in and out of AAA constantly. A simple google search will show what the media was saying too. Sox probably would have needed to include an additional player, but verifiable sources reported Walker’s involvement at one point.

Chris Getz almost got Jordan Walker in the Miguel Vargas trade. STL ultimately made him unavailable but there was a lot of discourse around him being a bust and the Cards almost gave up on him. Can you imagine what the #WhiteSox lineup would look like if they had gotten him too?

@mlbnyy51600 Its actually very comparable. Two former overall top prospects in baseball both 24 years of age. Walker looked like a complete bust who finally figured it out this year. Alvarez can do the same. Some kids it takes longer to figure it out

Jordan Walker was the number #1 prospect in all of baseball at one point 3-4 years ago. Got called up at 21 yrs old. His first 3 years combined had a -2.6 WAR and looked like a bust. Took some time but he finally figured it out this yr. Reason why Mets should not give up on Alvy

@xwanyex The built environment of St. Louis is literally crumbling though. How many buildings damaged in the tornado from May of LAST YEAR still haven't been repaired? Might never get repaired? My heart breaks for St. Louis, but it's like Detroit, it will probably never get better

Is currently 20-30k used. MOST 10 year old cars for sale today are 14-15k. msrp of MOST vehicles sold in 2016 was 33-34k.

This girl is cruising down the highway in her stick shift, windows down, wind in her hair, belting out songs while she shifts gears without missing a beat. She looks genuinely happy and in control. Most people these days never learn how to drive manual. It takes real timing and coordination to get the clutch and gas right, especially when you’re just trying to have fun and sing along. Seeing her do it so naturally makes you realize how much of that skill is disappearing. Do you think driving stick is becoming a lost art, or do you still think it’s worth teaching people even if almost every new car is automatic?
