Today, as you worship, lift up to Lord all public school educators and students. 90% of all American children are educated in neighborhood and community public schools. Our democracy depends on them. Your future depends on them. #txed #txlege

Tampa just dissolved its Racial Reconciliation Committee — not because it was radical, but because federal pressure made truth inconvenient. This is what happens when truth is treated like a liability. Equity should never be optional.

After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like. yahoo.com/news/articles/…

I believe Charlie Kirk was an authentic born again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, and I will one day share heaven with him. I unequivocally denounce and deplore his unjustifiable murder in any context. I grieve that in this great nation, to many persons are willing to play God, and determine when someone else’s life should end. May the killer be caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and soon, is my prayer. Every word I’ve heard Charlie Kirk speak about Christ, the Bible, salvation, apologetics, and doctrine, I have not found one disagreement. On the subject of race, and race related matters, I’ve disagreed with every word I’ve heard him speak thus far. I’m beginning to draw the conclusion that White evangelical Christians, and Black evangelical Christians are miles and miles apart on racial subject matter. As I mourn with our nation and believers surrounding his murder, I’m also wondering do my White evangelical brethren embrace Kirk’s racial rhetoric. If so, Houston we got a gigantic problem. I pray his death may spring forth healthy, healing, wholesome, and unifying conversations about healing our evangelical and national racial divide. It’s more so now clearer to me than ever.

The business community is increasingly alarmed at the attack on #txed by the current #txlege. They know that our Texas public schools produce their workforce! The sound economy of our great state is because of our wonderful neighborhood and community public schools!

A college classmate in Corvallis, Oregon sent me this photo she took at the “No Kings” protest there. I’m sure a lot of people can relate to it.

You can say both: Immigration laws should be enforced AND Everyone should receive due process and humane treatment Your thinking doesn’t have to fit into a pre-packaged political narrative, especially if you’re a Christian. Conviction AND Compassion.

The ERLC is the only entity in the history of the SBC to denounce police brutality. The ERLC made it clear that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton would be a difficult vote for persons whose votes were driven by certain moral values. Therefore, it isn’t surprising to me to see the MAGA wing of the SBC to want to eliminate the ERLC. The ERLC has been the most vocal and helpful SBC entity on the forefront of bridging the gap, and healing the racial divide. Donald Trump is on record holding Russell Moore in contempt, and calling him “nasty”. Punishing or eliminating the ERLC would be pleasing to DJT, and evidence his influence in the SBC is enormous. Eliminating the ERLC will only further alienate the very people the SBC claims that they want to evangelize and disciple. I pray that the SBC love souls more so than to engage in this unwise, politically partisan exercise.

In their 60s, this powerhouse couple walked the graduation stage—together. Husband with his PhD, wife with her EdD. Their daughter watched them earn doctorates side by side — a reminder of the beauty of lifelong learning and the magic of achieving greatness as a team. 🎓❤️

So disappointed and dismayed that our local public school district is once again in the news for this. Like we tell our kids…poor decisions have consequences. 😕

The decision from Cypress-Fairbanks ISD's board to strip chapters from books approved by Texas' Republican-controlled education board represents an escalation in how local school boards run by ideological conservatives influence what children learn. bit.ly/44eQS26

Gov @GregAbbott_TX is losing the voucher fight. He is rattled, desperate. He promised his billionaire donors it would pass. If it doesn’t, his money dries up. He is out. If it does, Texans will vote him out. Jesus says, "You will reap what you sow" #txlege House, stop him!

We are holding town hall meetings all over the state in the next two weeks to harness the incredible energy of Texans for their neighborhood public schools-- and against the privatization of them through vouchers. Y'all come, bring your friends, call your #txlege State Rep now!
