Honestly, good on the dev for shopping around, getting multiple offers (it’s not easy!) and giving company #1 heads up on how his situation changed. Hiring managers complaining about this should realize this situation is 10x better than the dev quitting 2 weeks into the new job.

Interviewed a backend developer. Guy was at 21 LPA. We offered 28 LPA, roughly a 33 percent hike. He agreed and confirmed joining. Yesterday he emailed saying he got a 32 LPA offer elsewhere and now wants 36 LPA from us. Nonsense. Why agree in the first place. If you are still shopping offers just say it upfront. We stopped interviewing other candidates and waited through the notice period for the joining date. Now two days before joining, he came back with a new price tag.

There's a toxic culture coming out of the AI industry that keeps trying to get us not to think. The message is everywhere. Don’t read the code, just vibe-code. Don’t try to understand all the text, just let AI summarize it. Don’t bother educating yourself, it’s too late. Don’t worry about the errors. Trust that everything will be fixed in the next version. The theme is the same. Don’t think too hard. Just keep swallowing the slop.

@progXprog Jak ja szukałem pracy w grudniu byłem na 5 rozmowach technicznych i 3 firmy zaoferowały mi umowę, a dwie chcieli dalsze proces, ale im podziękowałem. Może te narzekanie osób z nie znalezieniem pracy to wina jednak ich a nie firm?
