The more I dig into the Subnautica discourse, the more I'm realizing that the universe is just incompetently written. "Yes, we know there are giant monsters who can rip through tungsten like paper, but you can't shoot it because there was a genocide 400 years ago and guns bad."

DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT JUST HAPPENED TO SUBNAUTICA 2.. > be Subnautica 2 developers > player politely asks why you can’t kill most creatures > level designer snaps back: "This is not a killing game, go play Sons of the Forest if you want violence" > another dev adds that big creatures will stay safe because "the game should feel right" The first Subnautica let you stab leviathans with a knife. Now they want you to peacefully coexist with 50-meter monsters like it’s a underwater yoga class. Why do developers treat their most loyal fans like this? Why can’t they just answer normally without being condescending and aggressive? Loyal players are the ones who supported you for years. If you keep talking down to them, they’ll simply stop playing. And in the end, you - the developers - will be the ones who lose the most. Peak "go touch grass" energy in 2026. You think this approach will help the game long-term or are we watching it slowly die?

IGN is just a joke at this point. They gave the industry plant Mixtape a 10 but Subnautica 2, the most wishlisted game on Steam, a 7. I think they're laughing and baiting us. There's no serious journalism nowadays.

This is neat to me . This dude is inherently agreeing with my core point that jokes have meaning. Usually these guys disagree that jokes mean anything at all, so it rules to me that these guys are now being forced to adapt their arguments to focus on what's actually being said

Finally caught up to 120 chapter. HOKAZONO WHAT A FUCKING MASTERPIECE OF A MANGA
