Indian Muslims did not just abolish Hindu widow burning (Sati), but also stopped the cruel Hindu practice of female infanticide. Millions of Hindu women alive today owe their very existence to Muslims. Colonel Walker wrote in 1840: "The law of Mahomed put a stop to the inhuman custom which had long been practised by Pagan Arabs, of burying their daughters alive... Colonel Walker adverts to the efforts of the Mahomedans for the suppression of Infanticide in India... “The subject (female infanticide) was not overlooked by the former Government of India (i.e. the Indo-Muslim rule), to which the Company may now be considered as having succeeded. The author of the Acball Nameh (Iqbalnamah) relates that, in the route of the royal army from Cashmere (Kashmir) to Lahore, they came to a village, the inhabitants of which had formerly been Hindoo, ‘where numbers of the poor people upon having daughters born to them, that instant secretly put an end to their existence.’ This fate coming to the knowledge of the Emperor Jehanguire, he ordered, ‘that this barbarous practice should be discontinued; and enacted that whoever should commit it in future, should be put to the torture!’ From this it would appear that Infanticide engaged the attention of the Mogul Government, and that it made an attempt to suppress the practice..."

Muslims can’t free their women from the burqa, but they gave freedom to Hindu women, Sati was abolished by Hindus themselves, and this is how you treat women like slaves 🤡

Today in #Sikh History: Maharani Jind Kaur was imprisoned in the maximum security fort of Chunar in Benaras (Varanasi) due to the fact that even in imprisonment she remained in contact with Sikh rebels who were fighting against the British. In 1848, disguised as a maid-servant, somehow escaped the fort. She traveled incognito over 514 km (320 miles) to Kathmandu on foot and arrived there on 29 April 1849. She was granted asylum, out of respect for Maharaja Ranjit Singh, and would spend the next 12 years in Kathmandu in exile from her beloved Panjab. Finally, in 1860 she was reunited with her son, Maharaja Dulip Singh. Learn more about Rani Jind Kaur: social.sikhri.org/gtk-rjk-x #TodayInHistory #India #Punjab #Panjab #SikhHistory

As war escalates, diplomacy is zeroing in on one narrow passage with global consequences. Iran is offering a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, without nuclear talks attached, while the UN and world leaders scramble to prevent an energy shock. With one‑fifth of global oil at stake, the clock is ticking for de‑escalation.
