Platner is a private school screwup, of a type familiar to people who went to private school. The fact that he was cast as a man of the people by elites, while the working class rejected him, seems kind of emblematic of the whole progressive project right now.

I'm sworn to secrecy and I can't prove any of this but: - If what I heard is real, it's a problem - I think he drops out if it's real, because he's already facing significant financial problems - I doubt this is a smear, the GOP would want him to stay in

@hecubian_devil AIPAC bad, but the left doesn’t have other real policies + the vision presented for a pivot away from Israel is largely defined by people like Hasan, who seem to be actual antisemites. El-Sayed could reject that and offer an actual platform for relations with I/P, but he hasn’t.
