This isn't just bigoted. It's also intellectually bankrupt. Kruger is literally saying Christians should have rights of worship not afforded to followers of other faiths. Then claims for followers of those faiths to ask for equity is an act of "dominance".
Danny Kruger@danny__kruger

Nick Timothy and Nigel Farage are right, and Sadiq Khan and Keir Starmer are wrong. Small groups of people, of whatever religion, praying in public places is fine. And as a Christian country we should allow a special privilege for churches to lead services in our national spaces, like the Palm Sunday celebration that happens in Trafalgar Square. What we don't want is mass ritual observances intended to claim the civic realm for another religion, or assert the domination of another culture over our own Christian traditions. What happens in our national spaces is not neutral. People use Trafalgar Square, for celebrations and demonstrations, to make a point about the kind of country they want us to be. The Palm Sunday pageant reminds us of who we are - not as individuals (many or most of us don't identify as Christians at all) but as a national community, with the roots of our institutions in the ground of the Bible and our most solemn communal moments, from coronations to funerals, mediated through the liturgies of the Church. A mass Adhan held there, or in any town square, is making a different point: that Britain is not a Christian country, and that - inshallah - one day it shall be Muslim. This is unacceptable to the British public and indeed incompatible with our constitution. As ever with these debates, the issue is partly one of kind and partly one of degree. There is an issue with Islam itself as a religion which in most interpretations does not admit of pluralism or freedom of conscience, and therefore is inherently aggrandising, including over territory. But with a bit of confidence and a bit of toleration we could handle that - if it were not for the issue of degree. It is the scale of Islam in Britain, and the ambition of its leaders for greater scale, that makes the problem. The numbers of people who assembled for the adhan in Trafalgar Square, clearly and openly claiming the territory for a faith with no connection (indeed, with strong doctrinal disagreement) with the model of Western liberal democracy that Britain has developed and exported to the world - that is the problem. The numbers, whether everyone there understood it this way or not (and I suspect many did), convey an explicit threat to the foundations of our country. Being relaxed about other people's religion is a good thing, a very British thing. I don't mind modern druids dancing around Stonehenge in my constituency (arguably, though the historicity is tenuous, they have a claim to the place). I don't mind small groups of Hindus or Buddhists or Muslims demonstrating the reality of Britain's religious toleration by worshiping in Trafalgar Square. But let's not kid ourselves about this adhan, or pretend that we're just seeing another harmless expression of Britain's religious diversity. We are seeing an abuse of liberalism, led by people who are not themselves liberal; or - let us imagine they are acting in good faith - who are themselves deceived about what they are doing. It should not happen again. And it would be good to hear the Church of England say so.

@Copizzle Yeh. So i have been warching thos Team for 40 years. Dave Meggett, Jumbo Eliot, Jeremy Shockey etc. I am no Casual. Slayton has been given opportunity to be a true number 1. He has failed to deliver. He drops the ball at the most in opportune times. And is no leader. Got to go..

As a Giants fan disrespecting Darius Slayton makes you a casual. Any real Giants fans know his worth to the team especially over the last 7 years. He's played thru injuries and has always given his best.

Since ’08 31 RB’s have been drafted in the 1st round. (Unless I missed someone after checking 3 times) ONLY 3 won a Super Bowl with the team that used the 1st round asset to draft them. (Mendenhall, Michel, and CHE) Michel and CHE weren’t even the feature backs. None in Top 10.

@1ishmann @BradBrains27 My point is just that it's silly to willingly hand over $70+ to a multi million dollar corporate who cares about nothing but bleeding player's wallets dry, but complain about a normal person charging FIVE DOLLARS to improve the experience of said $70+ game

@NotMikeHarlow I don't disagree with the point but it's absolutely wild that you used Titanic to make that point. Titanic had exactly the same stuff said about it when it cleaned up at the Oscars.

I think it’s more emblematic of how the average quality of movies has deteriorated. Sinners was great but it’s insane to even be out in the same discussion as Titanic or any average Oscar winning film prior to the last decade. Same thing with Anora last year (which I also loved but was similarly overrated). If these films came out in the 90’s or 2000’s they wouldn’t even be considered Top 20 of the year
Zeitclip@zeitclip

"Sinners" has triggered the Woke Right because: 1) It's not about white people. 2) They don't understand most references because they lack proximity to Black people or Black culture. 3) They cling desperately to a romanticized version of American history and it upsets their paradigm. How many Oscars should it win tonight?

The RB to NYG talk - in both directions - is just so bizarre. There are paths to this team winning if they choose Love at 5. Arguing against it is silly. There are paths to this team winning if they choose someone else at 5. Arguing against it is silly. Bring up this situation from 7 years ago or that situation from 4 years ago or this situation from 2 years ago as "evidence" is similar to the "don't kick field goals" analytic crowd. No two situations are the same. Get over it. This is an incredibly easy and simple concept to understand. But I guess with how the world is today, you have to be FULLY against something or FULLY with something and then (literally) bash anyone who disagrees.

@DanSchneierNFL I don't want to draft Love because I think we have bigger needs but 'the Giants didn't win any games with Barkley' is such a wanky, disingenuous argument. The Giants haven't won with Andrew Thomas or Dex either

I'm not gonna lie there's definitely something amusing even to me that Giants fans are having the debate about drafting a RB in top-5 AGAIN eight years after Saquon despite the Giants going 25-48-1 with SB, 5 wins to show for in the year he won ROY, and then watching SB barely eclipse 4 YPC in his final Giants games as the OL finished nearly last in yards created before contact only to watch him be named NFL Network's "best player" in 2024 as the Eagles OL led the NFL in yards created before contact then once again in 2025 he barely eclipses 4 YPC as the Eagles deal with their first injured season on the OL.

@CalTalksNL I'd say we're slightly underachieving. We've a playoff budget and will finish in the playoffs. It's not fun, if anything it's depressing but the only person I blame is Ron Martin not Kev.

There is no denying how key Kevin Maher has been in Southend’s revival BUT… I do get the feeling he's almost at his ceiling at present. Feel he's been let down by the board in ways too. Club hasn't progressed either, if anything they've gone backwards. #SouthendUnited🔵

It should probably be concerning, on an existential level, how absolutely amoral people running the world seem to be these days. There's enough dystopian fiction out there that we appear to be running towards that the species should probably think about putting some guardrails in place.
