@preta_6 KEEP PRISONS SINGLE SEX. Apparently this is a difficult concept for progressives to grasp. They invent all kinds of excuses for why males should be caged with women--the most egregious of which is that "it hardly ever happens." If it happens once, it has happened too many times.

This event was what turned me. SF Public Library exhibit by men who pretend to be women, featuring weapons with instructions on how to kill actual women, lesbians, esp. 7 YEARS ago! And of course society has just gotten far worse since then, in many ways. Why is the US bombing the hell out of all those brown folk then?

The U.S. builds military bases, China builds infrastructure. The United States was once a British-style global trading empire (1870–WWII), prioritizing economic expansion, trade routes, and financial influence. However, after entering a full war economy in WWII, where 50% of the economy became focused on war, the U.S. transitioned into a permanent military-industrial empire with : • The creation of a large standing military, breaking the previous pattern of demobilization after wars. • The Pentagon as the headquarters of a permanent global war machine. • The Cold War institutionalized a war-based economy, making it impossible to return to a pure trade empire model. Now the U.S. faces a long Ottoman-style decline and risks being drawn into a global war, much like the Ottomans in WWI. A war which could force China to shift its vast manufacturing power into war production, and could lead to a new global militarized empire emerging from China—something that, so far, it has carefully avoided. Once so entangled it is nearly impossible to disengage. Ideally, the US decline continues peacefully while the US finds a new way, perhaps expansion into Space, while the world shifts into a peaceful multipolar world with no historical state locked into expansionistic war mode. In the near term its more likely that the US shifts into a protectionist stance with a reduced global imprint.
