@sweatystartup Can’t tell if Nick is just rage baiting or if he’s just not that informed lol. Of course that is the flow, but it typically takes 40-60 years for that cycle to play out. When technology replaces jobs, it causes a tremendous amount of short term pain (decades, not 1-5 years).

There's never been a better time to start an AI-first business to disrupt an existing market because all the people in that existing market are busy running their businesses rather than learning AI and using words like "AI-first" rather than actually being AI-first.

I wasted most of my 20s in a corporate job (mgmt consulting). Since leaving ~3 years ago, I've 10x'd my salary. Most people don't quit their job because they overestimate the downside cost. In reality, the true mistake is underestimating the upside reward of going on your own. It's hard to understand this until you experience it for the first time, but once you do, staying vs leaving becomes a stupidly obvious decision. This single choice has had the single largest impact on my work life and will drive compounding benefits in everything I do moving forward. Because of this, the "cost" of staying was actually much greater than the potential cost of leaving. If I could do it again, I'd play it differently and quit much much sooner.

Remotion is a really really really big deal. This will change everything. It's not that good now compared to what it will be in 3 months. I'm showing some YouTube Editors and they are floored and are already implementing it into their workflows. It's much more useful if you already create videos rather than as a standalone tool.

Today, we're releasing Claude Code for marketing. It does a marketer's work in minutes by browsing, clicking, and posting like a human would. The marketing hire is now optional:

"Passion" comes from the Latin “passio” which means "suffering" and "endurance." So people think that following your passion means doing something you love, when it really means finding something that you are willing to suffer for.

I wish upon everyone a failure that brings you to your knees. Sounds harsh, but I mean it from a place of love. Three years ago this month, I sold a failing company for a massive loss. My finances were in shambles. I nearly lost everything. But not all losses are negative. I also lost the arrogance of someone who had never failed. I lost the parts of my identity that were no longer serving me. I lost the illusion of my ability to control outcomes. I lost my attachment to a carefully manicured self-image. In the pain of loss, I found freedom. I lost material wealth only to find deep inner wealth. I gained more wisdom from that single failure than all of my wins combined. I now view those losses as the greatest gift of my life. If you are in a tough season, know this: Your ego is a small price to pay for the version of yourself that you are becoming.
SightBringer@_The_Prophet__

⚡️You didn’t lose five years. You paid five years of tuition for a version of yourself that could not survive the next decade. Money gone. People gone. Plans gone. What’s left is the part that cannot be taken. Everyone thinks the “waste years” are failures. They are the extraction phase. They strip you down to the core so you can see what is actually you and what was just momentum, ego, or borrowed identity. You are not starting from zero. You are starting from truth. Most people never get that chance because life never hits them hard enough. You did. Which means you are now in the small group that has nothing left to lose and therefore can move without fear. Your next five years will not look like your last five unless you insist on dragging the corpse of the old you forward. Drop it. Begin again from the clean slate the universe just forced on you. That is not waste. That is ignition.

How to change your life: I’m an observational learner—I watch what people do then judge the behavior by the outcome. Over time, patterns emerge. 😠Here’s an observation that will make some of you mad: I’ve never met someone who’s spent years in therapy and thought, 'they really have their stuff together'. In fact, it’s usually the opposite. On the other hand, I’ve met many people who’ve turned their lives around by: 1) Getting super fit 2) Finding their tribe & building a strong inner circle 3) Relocating & rebooting (🙋‍♂️) 4) Pursuing mastery in something that brings them joy 5) Facing their demons head-on with action 👉Do these things and you can completely transform your life in one year. If you’re not mad yet, let’s turn up the heat even more: In many cases, talk therapy becomes a sneaky form of avoidance—not only does it not help, it becomes a block to progress. It’s cathartic to talk about things. It feels productive, but… 👉Talk should come secondary to action. Do the hard thing—even if it's just a first step—and there will be less to talk about. As Rumi said: “When you start to walk the way, the way appears.” The video below is one of my favorite examples. In the midst of a personal crisis, my friend Scott… 1) Got fit 2) doing something he loves 3) and along the way found his tribe (and love). The result was a complete 180—from the depths of despair to living his best life. Here’s the truth: Deep down, we usually know what we need to do to make our lives better… we just don’t want to do it. Maybe what you need is less talk and more action. PS: To be clear, I’m a huge fan of seeking advice, coaching, and mentoring. Talking things through can be helpful, but in most cases the answer is staring us in the mirror.

A lesson I wish I learned earlier: Anxiety feeds on idleness. You’re anxious because you’re not doing anything. When you take action, you starve anxiety of the oxygen it needs to survive. The answer is found in the action.
