@demishassabis You are using your talent to sell more stuff for Google, not tangible scientific breakthroughs, that can be implemented at scale to benefit humanity.

From Apollo to Artemis — the evolution of deep-space exploration continues. NASA’s Apollo Command/Service Module (CSM) carried astronauts during Apollo missions from 1968 to 1975, supporting journeys to lunar orbit, Moon landings, and the historic Apollo–Soyuz Test Project. Today, NASA’s Orion spacecraft represents the next generation of human exploration — a modern deep-space vehicle developed for the Artemis Program, designed to carry astronauts farther than ever before on missions to the Moon and beyond.

Mathematics. There are three kinds of people on Earth: ❄️1) Those who can simply look at this diagram and know if the area of the blue region is greater than 20 units squared. ❄️2) Those who can actually compute the area. ❄️3) Those who can do neither 1 or 2).

SpaceX’s Starship program is evolving at a blistering pace that would have seemed impossible just a decade ago — racing from the raw, explosive prototypes of Version 1 to the sophisticated Version 3 now preparing for flight. The early Starship V1 vehicles, known as the SN (serial number) prototypes, were true flying testbeds. Built from gleaming stainless steel — chosen not only for its low cost but for its remarkable strength when chilled to cryogenic temperatures — these ships pushed the limits of what was possible. Many ended in spectacular fireballs during landing attempts, yet every dramatic failure delivered hard-won lessons in flight control, tank pressurization, and structural resilience.By the time Version 2 arrived, Starship had matured significantly. It featured upgraded Raptor engines, refined heat shield tiles for surviving the fury of reentry, and stretched propellant tanks that boosted payload capacity. What began as a daring experiment was quickly transforming into a capable, near-operational spacecraft. Now comes the ambitious leap to Starship Version 3. This iteration promises substantially higher thrust (thanks largely to the advanced Raptor 3 engines), dramatically simplified plumbing for faster and cheaper manufacturing, and a redesigned structure built from the ground up for rapid, routine reuse. Slightly taller than its predecessor, V3 is engineered to haul well over 100 tons to orbit while making full reusability a reality — bringing SpaceX one giant step closer to its audacious goal of making life multiplanetary. What makes this progression truly remarkable is the relentless feedback loop: real flight data is analyzed, problems are identified, and improvements are folded back into the next vehicle — often within months instead of decades. In the old world of aerospace, such leaps took generations. At SpaceX, they happen on the cadence of test flights. This isn’t just rocket development. It’s a fundamental redefinition of how humanity builds machines to reach the stars.

@ryanmcg86 @EYakoby Making busses free is a terrible idea. Make free-fare cards for people that actually need them. With free busses for all you make them slowly destroyed over time.

@epaleezeldin You apparently lie because no way you asked every single driver if they hate it or not. This is a great signal - when someone tries to speak on behalf of "everyone" the person is usually a professional lier and tries to use people for own good.

.@NYCMayor's team refused to tell multiple outlets where he & Trump DOT head Duffy would hold a presser today after their subway ride. We found out anyway, and I asked Duffy if he still considers the subways a "shithole." "Some would say," he replied before getting in a car.

There are only 3 great scientific questions: 1. What's the universe made of? 2. What's life all about? 3. What is intelligence? There are interesting sub-questions: 1.1 What's dark matter and dark energy? 1.2 how do you get "it from bit" to paraphrase John Wheeler 1.3 what is the nature of time? 2.1 is the emergence of life an intrinsic property of the universe? 2.2 how does complexity spontaneously form? 3.1 is the emergence of intelligent behavior an intrinsic property of the universe? 3.2 how does intelligence spontaneously form? (which is why learning is so fascinating) At the core of all of these questions is the nature of information and computation.

When the Twin Towers came down, JD Vance enlisted in the Marine Corps, gung-ho to exact justice on America’s enemies. Subsequently he came to believe the Forever Wars were a mistake. This is who I want by Trump’s side: an American patriot, with the courage to fight America’s wars but the wisdom to know when to avoid them. God bless JD, God bless Trump, and God bless the USA.

Tesla doesn't need subsidies. The other unprofitable EV makers do. We are giving $7,500 to people who buy GAS cars with a small battery. We are capping the price of EVs, hurting the profitability of the industry. If the EV tax credit dies I won't shed a tear for it.
