Just got off the phone with the CEO of one of the largest mortgage lenders in the U.S. — mortgage delinquencies are up 200% in 6 months.
People aren’t just stretched. They’re snapping
The West Village has transformed into a fabulous theme park for young women of some privilege to live out their 'Sex and the City' fantasies, posting and spending their mid-20s away.

@StefanTMD@pourfairelevide Yes! In Copenhagen at some muckity-muck restaurant that immediately made us feel at home and we were conspiring w/ the waiter on what to eat.
Masterclass in service
@pourfairelevide You ever have one get on one knee and take your order?
Dude had our table huddle around him while taking our order like a football huddle
Someone in the pharma business told me companies are freezing hiring and new projects because of uncertainty about tariffs. I don't think Trump grasps how damaging mere uncertainty is.

@gregorykennedy This era is what started it all. I remember having an all-hands digital department meeting when this story first broke. We worked with Klipmart before it was acquired by Doubleclick and Doubleclick before it was acquired by Google.

Every cool digital marketing campaign in the mid/late 00s involved a Flash microsite that was amazing and did 15 awesome things that just don’t exist on the modern internet anymore.
All lost to the sands of internet time. Decaying on external hard drives in old ECDs’ basements.
Things I’d do differently as a 2nd time founder:
1) Stop being CEO the second I’m no longer best qualified or stop enjoying the role
2) Prioritize way more ruthlessly
3) Hire via freelance-to-full time way more frequently
4) Use EOS on day 1
5) Create a personal operating manual for teammates like @chughesjohnson
6) Set an expectation of Radical Candor (h/t @kimballscott) with all employees as part of onboarding
7) Raise $ via an SPV vs collecting 28 individual checks and docs
8) Spend more time talking to customers
9) Use @storyarb to help me create content so I can focus more time on building
10) Have 2 no-call days per week
11) Issue C-Corp shares ASAP so the QSBS timer starts
12) Monthly temperature checks with co-founder
13) Hire someone who handles ops/HR earlier
14) “Traction” and “15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership” are required reading
15) Use @focusmate for deep work sessions
@emilykmay It’s the scariest and most vulnerable position I’ve ever been in. I don’t regret being a SAHM, but it’s a lot of reliance on someone else. 22yo me would be shocked.
I do require we contribute equal amounts into both our Roths and I am the manager of money to prevent surprises.
i am thankful to be home with my kids, but it's dishonest to act like it's not an extremely vulnerable position. I'm not paying into social security. I am 100% reliant on someone else's income. I've now been out of the traditional work force for almost six years.
Personal, heart-shattering update from Israel:
A friend who is an avid champion of Palestinian rights and founded the first Israeli tech company to employ over 100 Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank is burying his beautiful, beloved daughter tomorrow. She was dancing at the peace-themed music festival and was executed by Hamas terrorists, along with her boyfriend and 260 other beautiful young souls, just for being a Jew.
