CHINATOWN STABBING: On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at approximately 5:22 pm, First District officers responded to the 600 block of H Street, NE, for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, conscious and breathing, suffering from stab wounds. Officers on scene have one suspect in custody. Trump @POTUS for placing his trust and confidence in me to lead the agency during this historic time. I also want to thank @SenateAgGOP and the U.S. Senate for a smooth and speedy confirmation, @DavidSacks for his leadership in revitalizing American entrepreneurship, innovation, and productivity by modernizing legacy regulations and cutting red tape, @SECPaulSAtkins and @HesterPeirce for their guidance, wisdom, and mentorship during my time at @SECGov, @CarolineDPham for her strong stewardship of the CFTC as Acting Chairman, @giancarloMKTS for setting an example of principled governance that inspired me to follow in his footsteps, and all who supported me throughout the process. Today begins a new chapter for the CFTC. We are at a unique moment as a wide range of novel technologies, products, and platforms are emerging, retail participation in the commodity markets is at an all-time high, and Congress is poised to send digital asset market structure legislation that will cement the U.S. as the Crypto Capital of the World to the President’s desk. I welcome the vital responsibility to oversee the stability and security of America’s commodity derivatives markets during this period of rapid transformation. No agency is better suited to pioneer common-sense rules of the road for the new financial markets of America’s Golden Age than the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Under my leadership, the CFTC will conquer these great frontiers and ensure that the innovations of tomorrow are Made in America. Onwards.

Today is the start of an Era. This morning is my first day at Bitcoin Policy Institute as Head of Strategy. BPI is the honey badger of policy in DC. We are a small but mighty team of uncompromising advocates pursuing success for both Bitcoin and America. I can’t wait to help them chart the next phase of the organization with the experience I’ve gained from the Senate. We already have several new initiatives in the works that we are excited to share with you soon. Stay tuned. For now, it’s time to build!

Chairman Atkins was a Commissioner at the SEC when I first started at the SEC in 2007. I particularly remember briefing him about the Hill during the Bears Stearns sale, he was a great leader and so nice and level headed during a turbulent time. I am so excited to watch what he will accomplish as Chairman. Congratulations Chairman Atkins!

After an incredible journey as CEO of Blockchain Association, I’m stepping down from my role as CEO on May 16. Leading this organization, working alongside brilliant colleagues, members, and friends, and advocating for an industry that I believe is shaping the future has been an honor. I started as Blockchain Association’s first employee – and we’ve grown from a small group of passionate advocates into a leading force in Washington, D.C., and beyond. We’ve successfully shaped conversations around blockchain’s potential, fought off misguided regulations, and fostered a membership – a community – of companies and individuals who share the same vision and passion. Blockchain Association today is stronger than ever, and that’s a testament to the people who make it what it is. The team at BA is smart, driven, and deeply committed – I like to think that I wasn’t just building a staff, I was really building a family. Our Board of Directors is launching a search for my successor. I’m confident they’ll find someone who can build on the foundation we’ve laid and take BA to new heights.
