I believe the Ferrari Luce will be a success Was it made with the car enthusiast in mind? No Is it a violation of the Ferrari brand as we know it? Yes I do however think there is a huge target market of consumers who do not want to drive around in a big, shouty, v8/v12 Ferrari. Possibly even a larger market than the current target audience The Luce is clean, comfortable, planet friendly and understated. All traits which have become increasingly popular in recent times Every car maker in the world is being forced to produce electric vehicles due to government mandates, Ferrari is no exception and has been somewhat backed into a corner Does this mean that their first electric car should have been a 5 seater "SUV"? Probably not, but i don't think the Luce was aimed at the existing Ferrari fanbase (me) It is an unfortunate time in history for the "petrol head", or "gear head" if you prefer based on your geographical location That being said, I have no doubt that Ferrari will sell every Luce that rolls off the production line

@shangdao_pg @GNK001 Yup, would have made a brilliant up market Prius and would probably been getting a standing ovation. Right idea, wrong manufacturer.

@Tim_Stevens It would have made a great next version for the Prius and prefer EV's where they change the drivetrain but maintain classic and if need be, retro styling. Reckon an Electric Dino is an absolute no brainer.

I couldn’t help thinking about precedents of icons going electric and getting torn apart because of it. Please enjoy some thoughts on why I appreciate the Luce, even if it isn’t the brand’s most sultry car. However, there is one big reason why I’m concerned about its success…

@TMFScottP The great flaw in this policy is the idea that Australia behaves as a single cohesive market. A rental being taken in QLD by an owner occupier from interstate does nothing for QLD Tenants. Queensland +25,940 Western Australia +12,612 abs.gov.au/statistics/peo…

A reminder: If rental stock is decreased by an investor selling, they must be selling to a new owner-occupier. That new owner-occupier is either a current renter or would be. So... rental stock declines at the same rate as rental demand. Supply doesn't 'disappear'!

@TMFScottP How do you think interstate migration will impact renters, where landlords sell and exit. Sure there is a vacancy but geez. Think this policy still needs a bit of work, as does the idea of oversimplification.

And, god help me... but people keep telling me I'm wrong because new arrivals will snap up the properties. So let me say it here: New arrivals will add to demand, regardless of the ratio of OOs to rental properties. It makes zero difference to the scenario above!

@FurkanGozukara I put together ⛽️ checkpetrol.com.au to show potential fuel outages Australia-wide. Data isn't perfect, but I'm hoping user reporting can help fill the gaps in local areas.

Apocalyptic scenes in Australia. The fuel crisis has triggered massive panic buying. Gas stations are completely empty, strict rationing is enforced, and people are desperately hoarding fuel in jerry cans. The system is breaking down in real time.

@_davidlimbrick Quite the opposite, what every is now suffering from is a supporting what is a pretty risky supply chain and energy source. Time to move forward and stop looking backwards.

@sydney_ev Always like the idea of being able to jump in a car at anytime of the day or night and know I don’t have to chase down a petrol station before I can go anywhere. Figured that was the main benefit of a home charged EV.

@StevenJMiles Reckon it would be smarter to keep your political differences to yourselves and work together for the community. We have a Cyclone, war impacting fuel supplies, housing crises and Olympics. Seriously, now is the time to put our differences aside and dig deep…we will need it.

@damianl23 @RobGrieves Am guessing the people who are living pay cheque to pay cheque and have little to no discretionary income are gunna be hit with higher expenses. Economic theory is solid, impact on the families in communities is something else.

The RBA raising rates due to oil prices is the dumbest thing I've heard all year. When Oil goes up, everything goes up, inflation goes up, yes. How the hell is making home loans more expensive going to fix an oil crisis??! Typically when inflation is high, reducing spendable incomes reduces people's ability to pay for things putting downward pressure on prices. However everyone can't just choose to stop paying for fuel...

Lap times are currently about 2-3 seconds slower than last year's P1 at the Australian GP. While I love to see new lap records broken, this was expected with the rule changes. Question is, can the teams overcome the deficit as they learn more, leverage more data collected with every lap of the circuit with the new generation powertrains.

@TMFScottP Unless we build new homes then changing NG, GST etc does absolutely nothing other than change which family is living in a house. Almost pointless unless we work out how to build a new house for the tenants that get evicted when the Investor sells the house.

This'll set people off, but here goes. There's something really interesting about the cultural concept of 'getting ahead' by buying an investment property. What it means, for property in particular, rather than other assets, is 'getting ahead of the other guy'. Read on... 1/n
