@JaredMahylisMD My indications for a balloon are very narrow but I think keeping them narrow has given me good outcomes. Physiologically young, massive irreparable posterior cuff with either an intact or reparable subscap, minimal OA, and goal is pain relief and fast rehab, not strength.

Which feels like a wasted PT visit but whatever.

@Aetna Can you explain to me why my patient’s preoperative CT was approved, but their surgery was denied because they “haven’t done enough physical therapy”? Take a look at this xray and let me know how therapy is supposed to help this patient.

@RapSheet If it’s truly a grade III AC injury, then there’s no reason to proceed directly to surgery. Studies show no difference in outcome between acute and delayed reconstruction.

I’ve been really happy with the reduction and compression of the tuberosities, and I don’t have to cement 🙌🏻

My rTSA for fracture patients do so well with a faster rehab and fewer complications than any ORIFs I do.

@LadyInterlocks I switched last year to the double mask — KN95 with the ear loops over buttons on my scrub cap, then a sticky green mask on top. No fog, no tape, no issues. Highly recommend.

Anybody else use tape on the top of their mask in the OR to keep their glasses from fogging up but sometimes you get the tape a little high & then when you take it off it’s like you’re ripping off your lower eyelid?

For my birthday, my awesome office staff that loves to tease gave me this OR hat and some bourbon, my CRNA buddy got me some Willett, and my PA got me a fishing pole. These people make my job even more enjoyable. I’m 40. 😬

@OrthopodReg I got an anxiety attack just looking at this. I’ve capped my clinics at 5 patients per hour. I don’t have a scribe, a PA, a resident, or anything but myself. Every time I walk out of a room and see patients already waiting, my blood pressure spikes.
