Sun Pharma’s proposed 11.75‑billion‑dollar acquisition of US‑based Organon is a coming‑of‑age moment for Indian pharma on the global stage. It will put India’s largest drugmaker firmly within the global top 25, with exposure to women’s health and biosimilars across roughly 140 countries. Beyond scaling up revenues, this acquisition will sharpen capabilities, and signals strong confidence in India’s R&D and manufacturing strength. A crucial foothold in the US market.
Had a productive meeting with Dave Ernsberger, President, S&P Global. Our discussions centered on the demand supply situation in global energy markets and ways to build resilient energy supply chains.
India is moving aggressively on Green Hydrogen, biofuel blending, and a range of alternative fuels, while simultaneously accelerating domestic exploration and production efforts. These initiatives are key to building a resilient, sustainable, and future-ready energy ecosystem for the nation.

Energy security cannot depend on geography. India must turn the West Asia crisis into an opportunity to push for true energy sovereignty. We can accelerate this process by:
1. Raising renewable target to 1,500 GW by 2030.
2. Strengthening grids in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and adding more Renewable Energy Management Centres.
3. Mandating battery storage in all tenders; and cutting GST for storage assets to 5%.
4. Scaling clean cooking via Ujjwala-linked induction cooker aggregation.
5. Electrifying new buses fully, 2/3-wheelers by 2030, cars/trucks by 2035; fixing advanced chemistry-cell battery storage PLI.
6. Executing 100 GW nuclear by 2047 and diversifying critical minerals from China.

China's Big Tech Push, Lessons For India
The article titled “China’s Big Tech Push, Lessons for India” by Shri B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, former CEO, NITI Aayog, and Ms Debjani Ghosh, President, NASSCOM, highlights China’s approval of its 15th Five-Year Plan for national development, marking a strategic shift from leadership in individual sectors towards building an integrated technological system to enhance national productivity.
The plan underscores a sustained increase in research and development expenditure, alongside targeted efforts to address bottlenecks in integrated circuits, industrial machine tools, advanced materials, basic software and biomanufacturing. It further envisages the mainstreaming of Artificial Intelligence across key sectors.
A strong emphasis is placed on digital and computing infrastructure, data markets and the recognition of AI as a foundational asset, with a parallel focus on expanding the digital economy and strengthening resilience across the entire technology stack.

Strengthening India’s solar future ☀️🇮🇳
With the expansion of the ALMM framework to include ingots and wafers, India takes a decisive step towards building a robust, self-reliant solar manufacturing ecosystem.
This move will boost domestic production, strengthen supply chains, reduce import dependence and enhance quality across the solar value chain, positioning India as a strong global player in #RenewableEnergy. Advancing towards a cleaner, greener future and the goal of 500 GW non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
