One of my golden rules: It's far too easy to throw stones in a glass house. As a VC, you should never pile on a startup or founder, especially if you haven't built shit yourself.

@ashleymayer Startups announcing their valuations has been a relatively recent phenomenon. Agree using the announcement to highlight value to their customers much more appealing

Crosby notably did *not* announce its valuation as part of today's Series B fundraise (instead emphasizing $1 billion in contracts negotiated for clients), which I think is kinda sexy! Leaves a little to the imagination.

One of my beliefs for 2026 is we’ll see a resurgence of advertising, with AI as the creative and distribution layer.
Gen AI can materially increase ads created and improving underlying ML to drive higher conversions.
E-commerce will be a major beneficiary.
