We are building Atomic Studio to match the speed of our fab. It’s fast, browser-based, and collaborative. Layout, schematic, and simulation. Here’s a side by side of Studio (left) and Klayout (right) moving through the same file.

We talked to a few hundred students at Waterloo and CMU this week about building small, fast semiconductor fabs. Interns build the hardware and software tools in our fab. You get a credit card, space in our lab, machine shop access, and great mentors. The rest is up to you.

We make it ourselves And make the machine to make it. Want to join? Hiring EE, ME, Software , process engineers. We made the machine that puts atoms there, it’s laptop sized and draws 90 watts . Now we’re automating and building 10. Zoom in ,they’re not pixels

@jwt0625 I got to see it in person last year and it's very impressive - especially the precursor recovery system from using such high doses

@niccruzpatane The pitch is very short sighted, to a company that does not need to maximize revenue "today"

Uber CEO's pitch to Elon Musk on Tesla partnering with Uber at the All-In Summit: "The pitch is simple, which is; if you’re looking to maximize the revenue of those Robotaxis today, we’re the ticket to the maximization of that revenue. We would love to partner with them, but at this point they’re looking to go alone. I think the market is big enough to carry a number of winners.”

🇨🇦 Canadians in SF 🇺🇸 Last week, I was lucky to be surrounded by 150 of some of the best Canadians in San Francisco Good people should meet good people, so I kept the "Canadians in Eh I" series going From early engineers at OpenAI and Perplexity to first-time founders and public company CEOs The room was buzzing with energy. Moving to the states isn’t easy. No visa guarantees. No obvious playbook. Canadians take a real leap to be here. But once you’re building, it’s hard to imagine being anywhere else. Canadians are the hidden cheat code for building, hiring, and investing. Amazing to see how many journeys started in Canada and are now thriving here in the states 🇺🇸. Big thanks to @lighthousehq_ and @jcarrharris for sponsoring! 🍁 If you’re a Canadian working on eh I in SF or NYC and want in on the next one, reply with an “eh” in the comments. 🍁

why is pizza in the Bay Area such absolute trash like wtf, we nerds can cook up a recipe for a gajillion-parameter model no problemo but can't figure out a mildly appetizing ratio for some flour, water, and cheese

Energy costs in China are much lower than in the US, which accounts for a substantial portion of the difference in AI training costs. As you mentioned, specialty chips combined with an increase in US energy production - which will lead to lower energy rates - the cost advantage China currently enjoys will diminish. Making this selloff even more irrational.

The selloff of Broadcom and Marvell into this DeepSeek news may be even dumber than the NVIDIA selloff. Broadcom and Marvell are working with companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and others to design more efficient specialty AI chips for training and inference. If the DeepSeek hypothesis is correct, it bodes extremely well for specialty AI chips and especially inference. Along with Marvell and Broadcom, this is great for the likes of Groq and other specialty inference chips that deliver extremely low Cost per Token per Watt. I continued to be surprised at the reaction here. $NVDA $MRVL $AVGO

ENJOY! 🔥
Lex Fridman@lexfridman

Here's my 4-hour conversation with Marc Andreessen (@pmarca), where we discuss a positive vision for the future of America, given the many challenges we face. We talk about the state of the tech industry, the heated AI race, immigration, power & corruption in politics, and of course, most importantly, the critical role of humor and memes to the progress of human civilization. It's here on X in full, and is up everywhere else too. Links in comment.
