"A lot of people are very uncomfortable with the fact that they are essentially just CRUD monkeys. They just make systems that create, read, update or delete rows in a database, and they have to compensate for that existential dread by overcomplicating things." - @dhh

@icanvardar also the javascript framework wars. It's amazing how there has been no new popular javascript framework since the AI became popular. Tells a lot about how things in tech industry works.

Learned that if the Muslim population is 20%, you lose ~40% of your sales if your restaurant isn’t halal certified. It’s not because Muslims spend more. It’s because a mixed group of Muslims and non-Muslims will only choose Halal spots so the entire group can eat and drink.

Copilot CLI now supports enterprise managed plugins. Define plugin config in .github-private to auto-install plugins for every user in your organization.

the upside of huge companies not needing as many people: over the next few years, we're going to see large waves of people leave big companies to pursue their own ideas for niche communities that they're a part of and adore. longtail entrepreneurship is going to create such a fun future. i believe the rate of 1-3 person teams starting 7 figure annual businesses is about to continue exploding. regardless of whether these future founders leave due to passion or layoffs, i believe a significant % of them will look back and feel grateful that they traded working for a manager they didn't like all that much for a problem they can't stop thinking about. entrepreneurship is hard but it's also freedom. freedom to work on what you want, how you want, and with who you want. humans were meant to be free, so i genuinely believe there's an idea for ~everyone that they would love spending their time tinkering on. the internet opened the world and made it easy to find and connect with your community; ai makes it easy to build and serve them.

@BenjDicken this is exactly the thing I have been thinking about recently, I don't want to use something heavy like VS Code anymore, I need a tool to see diff and easy file navigation and then just run coding agents in separate tmux

What's the best ai-assisted coding setup in neovim? Need to seamlessly mix writing code by hand, agentic work, diff review, and file browsing.

Cool thing about working on a CLI is i can just have the CLI drive the CLI to test out a million edge cases via tmux

Now we have frontend agents, running on the browser, so many browser workflows can be automated with this @Agent0ai awesome work

I will totally need to reevaluate how I work with AI now But this makes a lot of sense, it is not really sustainable to manage economics when some people consume millions of tokens per single premium token Nevertheless it’s hard to grok for anyone who got used to taking advantage of sub agents not costing additional budget 🙃

Starting June 1st, GitHub Copilot will move to a usage-based billing model as GitHub Copilot supports more agentic and advanced workflows. In early May, you'll see a preview bill experience, giving visibility into projected costs before the transition. 👉 Read more about the upcoming change: github.blog/news-insights/…

But can the personal AI agents add actual value? I can try to create an AI assistant and then replace all my productivity, habits tracker apps with the AI assistant Later I can build graphs to visually see how am i progressing, this can be cool side project.

The personal AI agents are getting so cool, especially Hermes Agent by @NousResearch, I played around with a bit on my local machine and it was really easy to setup. I created a docker image with all the tools required to install hermes agent quickly, if anyone want to give it a quick run
