@JLRINVESTIGATES This is unrelated. Someone scaled the fence and ran in front of plane. The east A Gates (where Frontier Airlines is at DEN) is about a mile and a half from where this incident occured. DEN PIO confirmed that the individual scaled the fence.
This is exactly why someone got hit on the runway at Denver International. They let passengers go outside to load & unload Frontier planes with no security around.
@GamerLXXXVI@DENAirport The runways are oriented in many directions to allow aircraft to take off and land into the wind, regardless of which way the wind is blowing.
The parallel design allows for multiple runways to be used simultaneously, which helps minimize delays during bad weather.
@GamerLXXXVI@DENAirport The runway layout at Denver International Airport (DEN) is designed as a "pinwheel" configuration to maximize efficiency and safety.
DEN can confirm the pedestrian jumped the perimeter fence and was hit just two minutes later while crossing the runway. The pedestrian is deceased, and is not believed to be an employee of the airport nor have they been identified. (2/4)
@use32539@DENAirport The aircraft was evacuated almost immediately after the incident happened. There was as little delay as there possibly can be in an incident like this.
@DENAirport "Meanwhile, evacuation of the plane was delayed and multiple injures incurred because many passengers were more interested in saving their own baggage than their fellow passengers!"
@CoureyLiz54079@DENAirport Sometimes, during evacuations, individuals are injured if they get off the slide in an abnormal way. These people could have also been injured if they were not properly wearing their seatbelt or sitting in the aircraft when it aborted the takeoff.
@KentReicho94800@DENAirport "DEN" refers to the airport's IATA code, which originated from the city name. It is similar to "ATL" in Atlanta, or "ORD" for Chicago O'Hare. It is professional, correct, and is part of the brand of the airport.
@SouthMetroPIO@dcsheriff Per radio traffic, a smoldering fire was found in the middle of the basement. Extensive overhaul is required. Water is on the fire.
SMFR and @dcsheriff are responding to a single-family residential structure fire at 6597 Jackson Lane. Updates will follow as more information is confirmed.
@SouthMetroPIO@dcsheriff Correction: basement could be involved. Hoarding conditions in the basement, units are having trouble identifying the source of the smoke, but it seems like it could be in the basement. Per radio traffic.
@Turbinetraveler Clear and obvious AI. No commercial flight with people on board would ever approach a thunderstorm that closely, and a Seattle to New York flight would cross the Plains over North or South Dakota, not Oklahoma.
A passenger flying on Delta Air Lines Airbus A321 flight DL1719 from Seattle (SEA) to New York (JFK) recorded the moment a life-threatening tornado impacted Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma.
@ArapahoeSO@AuroraFireDpt@XcelEnergyCO Final Update: One firefighter has been transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. Crews are finishing overhaul and will be returning to service as they become available.
SMFR, @AuroraFireDpt and @arapahoeSO are responding to a working single-family residential structure fire at 19787 E. Radcliff Pl. Updates will follow as more information is confirmed.
@DENAirport power is back now but they still cant scan our boarding passes to get on the plane. other gates having no problem but we are stuck lined up at our gate. get it together Denver.
ALERT: The airport experienced a power incident around 9:20 a.m. Certain areas of the airport are still experiencing an outage, including DEN's train to the gates.
Technicians are working as quickly as possible to restore power. We will share updates as soon as we have them.
@DENAirport In the airport in terminal B. Still no power.
Maybe you should check why your backup generators don’t work either. And zero comms to airport/airline staff. They are puzzled like the passengers.
Lots of lessons to be learned here.
@GovofCO
Between Gemini 3.1 and Claude 4.6 it's honestly wild what you can build. This feels like Google Earth and Palantir had a baby.
Made this with all the geospatial bells and whistles -- real time plane & satellite tracking, real traffic cams in Austin, and even got a traffic system working. Panoptic detection on everything.
Skinned the whole thing to look like a classified intelligence system. EO, FLIR, CRT. Got a bunch more stuff on the roadmap. This is fun.
SMFR and @ArapahoeSO are responding to a reported single-family residential structure fire at 4594 S Jebel Ct. Updates will follow as more information is confirmed.
