@AustinHoney30 this is really disappointing. he could have compromised to make the tax more equitable like taxing only commercial parcels and parking lots or making a LVT only on downtown, but killing it left a lot of investment on the table while driving the mayor to spoil the governors race.

👋🏽 Real Michigander here! My dad was raised by a single mom and grew up in section 8 housing. My grandma worked two and sometimes three jobs to raise her sons. My dad put himself through nursing school at our local community college with a good union job packing boxes into trucks at UPS. He spent 15 years paying off his student loans. My mom has no college degree and was raised by a musician/landscaper who is still working in his seventies. She sold cellphones for most of her career and did some direct sales. My grandpa is a former Steelworker and member of the American Federation of Musicians, he’s owned his own landscaping company(where he is literally the only employee) for over thirty years. All of them are voting for Abdul. @neeratanden, I know working class Michiganders… you have no idea what you’re talking about.

I will tell this story again: We ran a project with working class women in 2019-2020 near Scranton Pa. Those women related to Trump and Biden. They genuinely didn't even understand the language of other Dems running for Pres (oligarchs anyone?). They thought Dems sounded like elites who looked down on them. The folks that scoff at this video tell on themselves that they are in elite bubbles.

@AzBobbyl @ron_fournier what sealed her fate was attacking abdul. that immediately let voters know what side she was truly on. if she was smart she would’ve let haley attack abdul and went after haley instead. that could’ve drove haley out of the race and consolidated the establishment behind mallory.

You clearly have no problem funding Israel forever until the “right bill” or the “right amendment” comes along 🙄

Rashida Tlaib voted for an amendment that still wants her people to get bombed as long as Israel gets bombed too bc MTG is an antisemitic white supremacist that wants to grift and doesn’t give a F for any of this in reality. In the meantime AOC has brought much better legislation forward but chronies still think she is an opp that is secretly conspiring with the CIA and Netanyahu. Like I would really like to know why an amendment that still leaves bombs in is the hill someone would choose to die on?

I voted uncommitted in the primary in protest of The Biden Administration’s participation of Israel’s genocide in Gaza. It was called a protest vote. Michiganders had family members killed by Israel in Gaza. Why is Haley Stevens more upset with voters than Israel?

No it’s not. Because amendments don’t send funds. Bills do. And she voted no on the overall NDAA. I really don’t know why you all keep losing your minds over a psychotic nothing burger amendment that wanted to take defense out but live in offensive weapons.
