Watching from afar I think Alfie has done an excellent job as a local newspaper reporter - one which I would have also tried to back in my local newspaper days. He reported the events, he spoke to his sources at the club and reflected their point of view in his coverage but he’s also held them to account too. That’s journalism. It’s a difficult line to walk but in my opinion he’s done it as well as he could in the circumstances #saintsfc

@louorns @Slimtons I figured he’s a saints fan masquerading as an impartial observer of the law. He’s completely missed the comms angle in all of this. From southamptons very first statement on May 8, they played for time, knowing the competition had a very specific deadline.

Speaking like they’d already won the £200m and had it in their back pocket. A club who’s systematically cheated shouldn’t be allowed to even compete for it, god forbid go on and win it. The arrogance and disrespect towards Hull, the team they still had to beat, astounds me.

Hull City should be promoted automatically Southampton’s spying was wrong but does it justify giving Middlesbrough a free pass? NO. A team that lost a semi final shouldn’t be in the final. Simple.

🚨 Exclusive: Hull City are consulting lawyers to see if they have a case to be promoted straight to the Premier League after Southampton (subject to an appeal) were expelled from the Championship playoffs. Hull are unhappy at the prospect of facing Middlesbrough at Wembley having spent over a week preparing to play Southampton. Saints appeal is this evening and they will argue the punishment is too harsh. Hull's players had a pre-planned day off today and will return tomorrow with either two days to prepare for Boro, or potentially learn the final is against Southampton again. Hull are leaving legal avenues open, including the prospect of a challenge after the final.🐯 🤝 @alex_crook
