@Teslarati The first release that was affected by flying leaves was the worst but agree that 14.2.2.5 feels like a regression. Slow, too hesitant, and ignores perfectly good nav directions.

I’m just going to say it and I know I’ll get some hate for it, but v14.2.2.5 is the worst FSD release since v14. Constantly in the wrong lane, a lot of weird maneuvers, so many additional nav errors, routing, speed control, parking, and that’s just to name a few. v14.3 cannot come soon enough.

@BLKMDL3 But feels significantly more hesitant regardless of speed profile on locals.

@TeslaTravelstx Agree - for large trucks, FSD should increase the follow distance accordingly.

FSD scared the crap out of me and my wife. We were headed out of town and my wife was taking zoom calls in the backseat and I was relaxing letting FSD do all of the work. We were following behind a cement truck and as we went through the intersection, the cement truck ran the light at the last minute, as soon as FSD was able to see the light it turned red and FSD slammed on the brakes. My wife’s laptop went sliding across the car, but we got stopped, and then FSD backed us up behind the line.

the % of miles driven on FSD feature is such a hit with Tesla nerds! @tesla needs to double down on this and gamify FSD usage! $TSLA #idea 💡⚡️

@BLKMDL3 14.2.2.5 seemed to get way more conservative on locals for me - on mad max and only doing 32 in a 35 - clear day with cars piling up behind d me - had to constantly apply accelerator pedal. Also decides against direct nav guidance and takes way out of the way route @Tesla_AI

@99_Colorado I had set assistive access for my father in law awhile back when he was still with us. Much better than just kids parental control since it also makes it easier with different layout/ui for the elderly.

@99_Colorado iOS has options to lock down/simplify what’s available - believe it’s called assistive access - can be set up to only receive texts from known contacts and limit what apps are available.

I can’t even right now. My elderly mother lives with us, and something bad happened tonight. Any advice on cyber security for older adults would be appreciated. Although we have spoken about not clicking on random links sent to her 1 Trillon times, my mother will continually click on malicious links she gets in text. Tonight she clicked on one that brought her to a WhatsApp Call (it gets so significantly worse). From what I was able to gather from her, she gave away our address and her credit card number to them (yes we immediately locked the card and called for a new card), but that wasn’t enough. She brought the live video call to me, just handed it to me to close the video call. So as I’m holding her phone trying to figure out why she’s on a video call, they got my face and voice as well. I’m beyond pissed! But this is going to keep happening. I removed her device from our wifi, so she’s only on cellular, but for fuck sakes she’s a significant cyber risk to this household and our family! I don’t want to just pull her devices away, she needs to have contact with family and friends. She enjoys scrolling facebook to see what’s going on, but this shit has to fucking stop! We are looking at those elderly phones, and then her online activity can be on a computer which I can control access to sites from the backend. I just can’t be the only one dealing with this.. any proven advice, because this is going to be the death of me.

Let me let you in on a little secret. All of Teslas 8 million cars can run FSD the same way the Robotaxis in Austin can. Technically, for legal reasons, I have to supervise. But if I was sitting in the backseat and the driver monitoring was off, it would still drive perfectly.

@dallasteslaclub @Tesla 2500 mile roadtrip for us from Cleveland to Orlando and back. A lot more stops including several @bucees. Only input was turn signals to get out of passing lanes sooner and speed profile adjustments in speed traps. Triple meat sandwich and paddle tails are must tries at Bucees

Dear @Tesla Thank you for making a 10 hour, round trip drive effortless. The current state of FSD is borderline sentient and I’m truly mind blown after the trip we just completed. 600 miles with the only time I touched the wheel being to help the car find a charger spot on the way down. For the drive back I never actually even touched the wheel once bc the 1 supercharger we stopped at had a smart site map and the car knew how to find a charger on its own that was available and active. This roadtrip was a great reminder that FSD is not only a convenience but truly a safer way of traveling and for that I’m thankful and excited for what’s to come! @elonmusk

@JCChristopher Amazing to see how many other drivers are on their phones while manually driving. FSD not only helps in those situations but also in areas with wildlife- I didn’t see the deer until FSD slams on the brakes slowing from 40mph to under 20 and avoids hitting the deer.

I won't be able to do Uber for a little while now due to my current dental condition, as well as the fact that I will be on meds for a few more days during my recovery. But one thing Uber with Tesla FSD has taught me is that I no longer have issues with the "but I want to drive" crowd. Tesla FSD has constantly and consistently protected me from all the bad human drivers out here on the Houston roads. I know there are some terrible situations that human drivers can put everyone in (driving the wrong way on the road, flipping their car, etc.), but these situations are edge cases compared to just the normal terrible driving most humans do with their phones in the hand or inebriated. And Tesla FSD has been a God-send for me doing Uber amongst these people for several hours a day. And I know that if most of these drivers had the ability to experience FSD, which they all will at some point in the future with Robotaxi, they will want to incorporate it into their own vehicles. Uber with FSD has taught me this is a battle not worth fighting, since it's not really a battle anyway.

@wholemars Anyone else think 14.2.2.5 speed profiles have gotten considerably more conservative on locals? Worked great on highways in our 2500 mile road trip but locals even on mad max mode consistently going under the speed limit in a 35mph zone.

@dallasteslaclub @JCChristopher On a roadtrip Cleveland to Orlando back to Cleveland -my only inputs have been the turn signals for FSD to move out of the passing lane and speed profile changes. Agree on not having it stay in the passing lane. Wished it Tesla would integrate with Waze for hazards/speed traps.

A couple points to note after using FSD today for a 5 hour drive. First, this was the best road trip experience I’ve ever had on FSD. Only one supercharger stop and it was 7 mins in total. Truly wild how good the Tesla system is at route planning for long distance trips. You don’t even have to think about it anymore. Overall confidence and awareness of FSD is very notable, and handles construction and detours great as well as avoids traffic pop ups well. We also had multiple instances of FSD safely avoiding road debris and obstacles in the roadway that would have been a rough one to hit at 85 mph safely like for up tires. I noticed that if you’re in Mad Max or even hurry mode, the car will automatically move to the leftmost lane and stay there throughout the highway drive. This can be problematic in areas like Texas, where most sheriffs will issue tickets for this behavior. Additionally, in Texas, where the speed limit is 85 and we’re maxed at 85, we get constantly honked at for driving right at the speed limit and staying in the left lane. These seem like simple fixes, but the overall goal is to make road trips more enjoyable by allowing players to relax and not worry about the drive. We are knocking on the door of unsupervised privately owned FSD teslas and days like today reinforce that belief. If you somehow have not yet been able to experience Tesla FSD, do yourself a favor and book a demo today. This technology has changed my life and allowed me to overcome my anxiety of long road trips and give me the peace of mind that I am as safe as I can be on the highway as long as I am inside of a @Tesla operating on FSD. @elonmusk

@ICannot_Enough @sashayanshin @JOBhakdi Yeah - not today’s datacenters - space itself will be the data center providing power and cooling and the next gen starlink sats are more like individual racks of processing that will be networked to a coherent swarm.

@sashayanshin @JOBhakdi Are you imagining somebody trying to launch a data center building into space?? They're just satellites, Sasha. Just a larger constellation of Starlink satellites with lasers and more processing power launched into a special orbit that keeps them powered by sunlight 24/7/365.

Tesla has released a new blog post about its redesigned residential solar panels. Engineered in CA and assembled at Gigafactory NY. "What You Get With Every Panel: • Refined Aesthetics: A modern design that complements any home, featuring all-black cells with concealed electrical connections and a low-profile skirt that keeps hardware hidden. • More Energy Production: Tesla Solar Panels generate more energy to help reduce electricity bills. With laser-cut cells forming 18 power zones (three times more than conventional panels), each panel can produce energy efficiently even in conditions with shade or dirt. This prevents major production drops that conventional panels experience when a single zone is shaded and makes your system more resilient. • Long-Term Reliability: Panels and mounting systems come with a 25-year warranty backed by proven industry experience. Streamlined Installation With Tesla Panel Mount: • Tesla Panel Mount is a rail-less mounting system developed and refined from experience gained across more than 500,000 installations worldwide. Its design allows for faster installation, lower costs and minimal visual impact. • Integrated Mounting: With no visible clamps or rails, mounting brackets attach directly to the panel frame using a rock-in groove, allowing the panels to sit close to your roof and blend in naturally. • Fast Installation: This system can be installed up to 33% faster than conventional rail-based systems, with up to 15% fewer roof penetrations1, reduced weight and lower material usage (24% less aluminum). • Broad Compatibility: Compatible with all major U.S. roof types, whether they’re steep or flat, and composed of shingles, tiles or metal. Homeowners can easily manage the whole Tesla ecosystem in the Tesla app, including Powerwall, solar, electric vehicles and Wall Connector for home charging and Powershare."

I'm getting a number of comments lately from folks that watch my content, especially on YouTube - that it's not what it used to be, or that I'm "selling out", "making content just for clicks", "making AI slop", or "recycling content just for money". Perhaps I'll use this time to get everyone caught up on how I've been approaching content creation. It has become very obvious that we are living through the most transformational time in human history. Since I started creating content in 2021, I was in a very unique position to talk about the details of how this future was being built in one of the premier companies that was leading this transition, which is Tesla. Since then, one of the biggest realizations I've had is that my (and by extension, my audience's) understanding of the fundamental shift in the world related to EVs, self-driving cars, AI, robotics, energy, etc. is only shared by a very small % of the population. A shockingly small %. All I have to do is talk to a random person on the street. That information is INSANELY valuable for making decisions about the future. At the very least, it's a very powerful brainstorming tool (or so I hope!). So I made the pre-meditated decision a few months ago to begin tailoring my content slightly more towards folks that are not as deep in the weeds as my usual audience would've been. By default, this means a) introducing concepts as new that those that are familiar with my content would find as "old news" or repetitive b) adopting a tone that was geared more for a general audience that is completely new to what I'm talking about and c) framing stories/videos in a completely different way that is digestable/clickable by a broader audience. For those that would think I'm doing this "maliciously", this looks like "clickbait", "repetitive", or "just doing it for the money". But in reality, it's a very deliberate decision that required quite a bit of a perspective shift & stylistic change on my end. Trust me: if I really wanted to make money, I wouldn't be doing content creation. Every content creator would tell you that. Why would I subject myself to hate on a literal hourly basis for unpredictable revenue? The ROI is not that great, especially when you account for mental health. Fortunately for me, I do this because I LOVE IT!!!! In addition, through my 4+ years of creating content, I've had the luxury of amassing a large repository of knowledge in my videos that are uniquely mine. In the age of incredible agentic AI tools, I now have the ability to take this database and create new pieces of content (ie books and other things) that would've never existed before, that's geared to a completely new audience I would've never had. From an educational & informative perspective, this is a no-brainer decision for me to do. My job now, as it always was, is to ensure I'm doing everything I can to execute these pieces of content at the highest level possible, given everything I've learned thus far. That's my promise to you, and to myself - that I'll always try my best, regardless of format or medium, in everything that I do. I cannot control how any of you feel about what I create, but the least I can say is that I tried my best. I hope this brings some clarity to those that might be questioning my motives/direction/decisions.
