NAFSAN’s Fredrika Amupolo (Nutritionist) & Ben Schernick (Social Worker) attended a mind-shifting Positive Deviance (PD) Learning Event in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Skilfully facilitated by @asinghal_ubuntu, the event deepened our understanding of the transformative approach. 1/3

@bignamibia Unfortunately about three (3) Namibian children die every day of hunger - which makes the call for the implementation of an UNCONDITIONAL Basic Income Grant even more urgent!!!

Basic Income Grant in Namibia
A child dies of hunger in Namibia every 3 days. Nothing has been done. Why not implement universal Basic Income Grant (BIG) to make sure that no child falls through the cracks chng.it/rP8GNhJN

@UN_Nutrition @IFAD Great - hopefully something of this can be of value too: nafsan.org/n4h as it brings nutrition (health) and agriculture (food systems) together in practical and innovative ways.

UN-Nutrition Member Agencies, incl. @IFAD, are working together to make sure that people are at the 💚 of #FoodSystems transformation & that #nutrition outcomes are a principal measure of success. Still a long path🏞️ahead until there are sustainable healthy diets🥬🫘🍌 for all
International Fund for Agricultural Development@IFAD

From farm to fork, the journey our food makes matters 🍅🚛 Small-scale farmers are at the root of our #FoodSystems, but many don’t have quality nutrition or reliable livelihoods. It’s time for a change — and they are already leading the way.

@allyangula2024 Yes, but introducing an Unconditional Basic Income (#UBI) for everyone (from birth!) of at least N$ 500/month would be more effective, co-financed by an overdue #SugarTax!

A SCRAMBLE | The community of Uukwiyu-Uushona in Oshana Region was left fighting for drinks after they were not served with food at, ironically, a World Food Day event in their village. Only VIPs were formally catered for. The community came out in numbers to celebrate the day.

Canadian regulations also stipulate that studies must be done before landfarming takes place which show groundwater flows and potential harms to adjacent properties. No study was done by ReconAfrica, yet the company claims international best practices. voetsekreconafrica.wordpress.com/2022/06/07/oil…
