GitHub just confirmed unauthorized access to its internal repositories. Read that again carefully. Not customer repos. Not enterprise orgs. Not your private codebase. Their internal repositories. But here’s the part most people are missing: “We are closely monitoring our infrastructure for follow-on activity.” That line matters more than the breach itself. Because modern attacks rarely stop at initial access. This is usually how it unfolds: 1/ Initial foothold attacker gets access to an internal system, repo, token, or credential 2/ Recon phase map infra, identify secrets, CI/CD pipelines, deployment configs, internal tooling 3/ Privilege escalation move laterally into higher-value systems 4/ Persistence backdoors, stolen tokens, automation abuse, shadow access 5/ Follow-on activity the real attack starts after defenders think they contained it And GitHub explicitly mentioning “follow-on activity” means they know this too. What makes internal repo breaches dangerous: internal repos often contain: infrastructure configs deployment scripts staging credentials internal APIs undocumented services feature flags monitoring hooks employee tooling Even without direct customer data access, internal code can expose the blueprint of the entire system architecture. This is why mature security teams assume: source code access = potential infrastructure intelligence leak Now the interesting part: GitHub said they currently have: “no evidence of impact to customer information stored outside internal repositories” That wording is extremely deliberate. “No evidence” ≠ “impossible” It means: investigation still ongoing logs are being reviewed blast radius not fully finalized containment likely still active internally This is also a reminder for every startup shipping fast with AI and automation: Your GitHub repo is not “just code.” It’s: secrets infra assumptions auth flows deployment logic business intelligence One leaked token + weak IAM + over-permissioned CI pipeline can become a full production compromise in hours. Security isn’t optional once you have users. Even for startups. Even for MVPs. Even for “just testing.”
GitHub@github

We are investigating unauthorized access to GitHub’s internal repositories. While we currently have no evidence of impact to customer information stored outside of GitHub’s internal repositories (such as our customers’ enterprises, organizations, and repositories), we are closely monitoring our infrastructure for follow-on activity.

Chief Minister Joseph Vijay deserves at least 6 months before we start judging him and his government! So far, this government has shown both positives and negatives. Positives: • MLAs actively attending constituency and local issues • Renovation and refurbishment of Amma Unavagam canteens • Secretariat staff being instructed to report properly at 10 AM Negatives: • Irresponsible stand on NEP and language policy • Wishing the killer of a former Prime Minister on the killer’s death anniversary Now, the positives could well be PR-driven. After all, @TVKVijayHQ arguably has the strongest social media presence in Tamil Nadu today. At the same time, some of the negatives may simply reflect Vijay’s political inexperience and inability to fully grasp certain sensitive issues affecting the state. That said, I still feel Joseph Vijay deserves at least six months before people start delivering final verdicts on him and his government mainly for two reasons: 1. He does not have a simple majority. That naturally means dependence on alliance partners, political adjustments, and unavoidable compromises. 2. Vijay is not a seasoned politician. He is an actor who has walked straight from cinema into the Chief Minister’s office. His inexperience and that of his party has to be factored in. Personally, I am more interested in seeing his larger governance style, administrative maturity, especially his relationship with the Central Government. The day @CMOTamilnadu Joseph Vijay meets PM Modi, we may finally get a clearer picture of who he really is politically!

Dear @TVKVijayHQ, The amount of fake news, false propaganda, and baseless rumors spread by the DMK ecosystem on online platforms are increasing day by day. Such organized misinformation cannot be effectively countered through Virtual Warriors alone. TVK urgently needs an official IT Wing presence on X and Instagram to respond quickly with facts, data, evidence, and clarity. A structured digital communication team is now essential to protect the party’s narrative, truth and directly reach the people. Kindly take the necessary corrective measures ASAP!!! @TVKVijayHQ @BussyAnand @CTR_Nirmalkumar @arunraajkg @GuRuThalaiva @JhonArokiasamy @imrajmohan @RameshOffcl #TVKVijay#TVKVijay‌HQ #ITWing

The 2026 Tamilnadu Generational Shift: Statewide Digital supremacy analysis Important stats for every analyst will see for all political party. 👇 Here is the breakdown of viewership and engagement patterns as of April 12, 2026 1. TV News Viewership (Traditional Ratings) Traditional TV news still commands the 50+ age demographic, but ratings are increasingly fragmented due to the new 2026 TV Ratings Policy which now includes digital viewing.  • Polimer News & Thanthi TV: Continue to lead the overall TRP ratings for news. These channels are the primary sources for the "older generation" loyalists. • Puthiya Thalaimurai: Maintains a strong lead in the Analytical category, with its debate programs like Open Talk garnering high viewership from the urban middle class. • Party Channels: Sun News (DMK) and Jaya Plus (AIADMK) maintain high baseline viewership from their respective party cadres, but they are struggling to grow their reach beyond their core loyalists. 2. YouTube & Digital Dominance This is where the real shift is happening. In the digital space, the traditional power balance is inverted. Platform : You Tube DMK(I-PAC): High focused on schemes ADMK(IT wing) : moderate, focused on rallies TVK(Virtual Warriors): Extremely high viral focus Platform: Instagram Reels DMK: Growing GenZ outreach ADMK: Very Low TVK: Monopolistic very high (Massive reach) Platform: WhatsApp/X DMK: Organised (I-PAC) led ADMK: Structured TVK: Organic & Decentralised. TVK: Vijay has what he calls his "largest social media army" of "virtual warriors." His party’s content consistently hits millions of views within hours of posting. On YouTube, snippets from his rallies are outperforming full speeches by traditional leaders by a ratio of 5:1.  • DMK: CM MK Stalin’s digital team has aggressively pivoted to Instagram to counter the TVK wave, using AI-generated mascots (like "Rakkamma") and short-form content to highlight welfare success. • AIADMK: Primarily relies on organized WhatsApp broadcasting and technical chart-based critiques of the government, which appeals to their 40-60 male demographic but lacks the "viral" factor. 3. The "Influencer" Factor A new pattern in 2026 is the role of independent YouTubers. • Rangaraj Pandey (Chanakyaa): Remains one of the most influential digital voices, with single videos often crossing 1M+ views. His analysis of the "Triangular Contest" is heavily consumed by the "Silent/Swing Voter." • Behindwoods / Galatta: These entertainment-turned-news channels are giving TVK massive indirect viewership. A single interview with a TVK supporter or a rally visual on these platforms often gets more views than a prime-time TV debate. 4. Summary: Who is winning the media war? • Viewership Volume: TVK (Vijay). If you combine YouTube, Instagram, and WhatsApp, the sheer volume of "Impressions" for TVK is nearly double that of DMK and AIADMK combined among voters under 40. •Stability: DMK The government’s official channels and mainstream partners still hold the edge in "Authenticity" among older voters. • Ground Structure: AIADMK. Their digital strategy is less about "views" and more about booth-level coordination. Conclusion: The "huge crowd" you saw for Vijay is mirrored perfectly in the digital data. The TVK is effectively "winning" the media battle for the hearts of the 60% youth and 40% women under 40, while the DMK and AIADMK are essentially defending their legacy viewership on traditional TV. During DMK regime, when M.P. Saminathan was made Minister, did you question whether he held any degree related to the film industry? Then who are you now to comment on a Minister’s portfolio? If you have any request or concern, state that directly. You are nobody to comment on our Minister Rajmohan’s eligibility. @VishalKOfficial
Vishal@VishalKOfficial

Happy to see #CMJosephVijay allocating ministries to respective elected MLAs but it's disheartening to see honorable minister #Rajmohan to be in charge as minister of Film Technology and Cinematograph Act. How would I or we as a body or as an association render our requests or grievances of our film industry which is actually bleeding and so many reforms to be made and give a ray of hope for the fraternity especially producers /production houses to someone who has lesser or no experience of wat is happening in our industry more than our CM who was and is part of the industry from grassroot level and being part of the fraternity for last 30 years. Dear CM kindly consider above and, 1. Kindly introduce govt ticketing window which will bring revenue to govt as well as relief to viewers who pay 30rs per ticket. 2. Kindly abolish local body tax as we are the only state in India to induce 2 taxes against the "one india one tax "rule. 3. Kindly increase subsidy for small films every year from the current meager amount given. I know this can be given as a representation to the CM but these are being requested for the last 9 years. Not demeaning Mr. Rajmohan, but it's just my opinion. CM can give us the much needed relief. God bless. @CMOTamilnadu

We know the TVK ministry list looks inexperienced. No one seems to fit the bill. But you don't need a Ph.D. in governance to run a ministry. People with far fewer qualifications have gone on to do good things for the country. The thing in TVK's favour is that there is a lot of goodwill for Chief Minister Vijay. Just do him proud by repaying the trust he has invested in you. We have one little piece of advice: develop the capacity to listen to good ideas and filter out the bullshit.

Our Honorable Chief Minister and Nanba #CMJosephVijay surely would not have taken this decision without careful thought and consideration. Rather than reacting impulsively, let us give it some time and extend our support. I’m hopeful that Minister Raj Mohan will deliver his best for the welfare of the film fraternity. I understand the concerns, especially given the current challenges faced by the film industry. However, Honorable Minister #RajMohan, as the Minister for Film Technology and the Cinematograph Act, deserves some time and a fair opportunity to settle into this role. @TVKVijayHQ @imrajmohan
