I’ve been to Indy and done pizza many times. My experience is Indy is very much not a pizza city. Any places I need to hit this weekend?

🚨 FIFA have chosen to stage the World Cup final at MetLife Stadium — an American football venue. 🇺🇸 Instead of using Estadio Azteca, where legends like Pelé and Maradona lifted the trophy. 🇲🇽 Do you think they've made the right decision? 🤔

What Nick Cannon said is exactly how misinformation spreads. Yes, the KKK was tied to Southern Democrats in the 1800s. That part is true. But leaving out what happened next changes the entire meaning. In the 1960s, after Lyndon B. Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the racists who supported segregation did not just disappear… They left the Democratic Party and shifted politically. That is a huge part of the story that keeps getting left out. AND THAT MATTERS. Because when we, especially Black voices with big platforms, repeat half stories, it does not just stay a conversation. It spreads and it can be used against us. We cannot afford to be loud and wrong at the same time, especially right now.

Because we live in a white supremacist society that has spent hundreds of years deliberately putting up barriers to prevent non-white people from being successful. Pro athletes are only making millions because that’s the market rate. If franchise owners could pay minimum wage, they would. Generally, white folks are fine with athletes making that kind of money because they’re seen as a source of entertainment and not a real threat to the existing power structure.

Why do black people have so many athletes who've made over $100 million, yet we don't own any factories, we don't have our own sports leagues, we don't have our own school systems, etc.? However we do have an oversupply of Gucci belts

Sorry @philiplord and @chrizmillr I cannot, in good conscious, support #projecthailmary after Andy Weir went on a stream with noted chud Critical Drinker. For years this man has tried to destroy everything that you guys stand for, and to give him a pass like that is a bridge too far.

@BrettSiegelNBA Silver's the dumbass to implement the draft lottery rules encouraging this level of tanking. Literally every aspect of the NBA has gotten worse since Silver took over.

Silver cont. on tanking: "We have ample talent to field 32 teams. When we just had a 2-team expansion, 6% of the players were international. That's now 30%... "Tanking is a confusing one and something we study... I'm not worried about the ability to have 32 competitive teams."
Brett Siegel@BrettSiegelNBA

Adam Silver says NBA expansion agreements are not certain yet and nothing has been finalized as far as ownership groups or teams for Las Vegas or Seattle: "There have been no handshakes or promises on the side... nothing is set in stone right now."

@urquharthoops Maybe because of the disasters that were the Brandon Miller and LaVall Jordan hires... former players beloved by the admin with little to no head coaching experience.

If you are a Butler fan and are not stoked about the Nored hire, you are officially a doomer. I’m not saying it’s guaranteed to work — but this guy has all the characteristics Butler needs from its HC. Youth, passion, experience at multiple levels, charisma, toughness, and a deep connection to the program. Two underrated elements of this hire that I’m interested in: 1. Nored’s professional experience being utilized to attract recruits with NBA ambitions, similar to how BYU’s Kevin Young has done it 2. Brad Stevens as a pseudo-consultant to the program

NBA ratings are at multi-decade lows for the NBA Finals. The NBA’s all time most watched game was in 1998. This year the NCAA tourney is setting all time record viewership. The Super Bowl all time high was two years ago. Why has NBA tanked while other leagues soared? Vote below.

So I guess I need to say this again: The NBA isnt perfect. There's plenty of valid criticisms & areas for improvement. But I also believe good basketball is the most entertaining product in sports. For that reason alone, any predictions of "the death of the NBA" are unserious.

NCAA TOURNAMENT RANT GOING VIRAL Syracuse coach Felisha Legette-Jack is clearly frustrated - Saying it feels like every time they make a run in the NCAA Tournament… they end up having to face UConn. Not another matchup. Not a different path. Just UConn… again. You can hear it in her voice—this wasn’t just a comment, this was built-up frustration. 🏀 Is she right… or is this just what comes with facing elite programs? Thoughts? ⬇️ 🇺🇸

The NBA as a league is worth over $200 billion, and that’s not factoring in media rights and ads. Next year’s cap isn’t decreasing, it’s increasing by ~ $11M to about $165M. And they just signed a $77B media rights deal. They’re doing just fine, but thanks for your concern.
X@XaviercMiller

I said 2 years ago the NBA will be irrelevant in America within 15 years. People laughed. But this is how it starts. First ratings decline, then fan interest declines, then local media revenue declines. You don’t lose cultural dominance overnight, you slowly become less relevant until it finally shows up in the business side all at once.

The opening day NCAA tourney set an all time ratings high on Thursday. Never have more watched the opening day of an NCAA Tourney. People love basketball! So why is the NBA setting multi-decade ratings lows? Because NBA went super woke:
