How do you fix this culture?

It’s WAY too easy to wrongfully convict somebody of a sex offense to ever have capital punishment for it. Juries are simply NOT critical enough of cops , prosecutors and victims. There are something like 8 false rape allegations a day in the USA. And there are probably a LOT more than that when you consider how many slip through the cracks. Sex offenses by nature are often lacking in objective evidence. And convictions are often made by witness testimony only. While this sounds accurate , eye witness testimony is often very unreliable. This is even more so when the witness is a victim of a trauma.

Human rights organizations are outraged over Idaho spending $950,000 to retrofit prisons to accommodate firing squad executions of sex offenders. They say money is better spent on "rehabilitating" the offenders. 👉 Should Idaho use funds for rehabilitation or firing squads?

Hoffman is framing this as some cover-up, but the judge's order restricting mugshot broadcasts was based on defense attorneys presenting evidence that defendants were already being doxxed and facing safety threats. Courts routinely issue protective orders when defendants face potential harm before trial. These are people charged with a misdemeanor, not convicted of anything yet. The presumption of innocence still applies. And the names were already public record in charging documents, which Hoffman just proved by listing all 33 of them. The judge restricted media from broadcasting their faces during the arraignment. That's a narrow order, not a government conspiracy

They are gonna send her a notice of a different court date months after the one on the ticket anyway. I mean yea sure shame on her for reacting that way to a ticket. This may be true of Texas today. It is NOT true of 19th century Texas, which passed a ton of unconstitutional gun laws (even total bans in some cases) that the Supreme Court has since rejected. Modern Texas, through its elected Attorney General, made a decision not to defend these laws, and you, Mr. Democracy Respecter Judge, decided to void that and appoint antigunners to defend it anyway, and sided with their ridiculous arguments. Hope the Fifth Circuit demolishes this nonsense.
