Copper theft at Denver area DCFC EVSE.

Do Better Denver@dobetterdnvr

Leetsdale & Cherry. @ElectrifyAm Copper theft is a serious problem in Denver. These incidents highlight the ongoing issue with utility infrastructure theft. vagrants are stealing copper from EV charging stations, businesses, and even the @RideRTD light rail tracks. Denver City Council passed a bill to regulate scrap metal sales in 2025, but it won’t be truly effective unless it’s expanded statewide.

Great summary of how quickly civilization collapses after experiencing widespread prolonged power outages.
Embajada de los Estados Unidos en Cuba@USEmbCuba

Security Alert: U.S. Embassy Havana, Cuba (May 14, 2026) Location: Cuba Event: Cuba’s national electrical grid is increasingly unstable. Prolonged scheduled and unscheduled power outages occur daily across the country, including in Havana. Outages affect water supply, lighting, refrigeration, and communications. There is also a shortage of fuel affecting transportation and causing long lines at gas stations. On May 13, 2026, there were numerous reports of protests throughout Havana regarding prolonged blackouts. While these protests have not been directed against the U.S. or U.S. citizens, reports say some of these protests have resulted in aggressive police repression against Cuban protestors. We remind U.S. citizens to avoid large gatherings. U.S. citizens with emergencies, please call +(53) (7) 839-4100; after hours dial 1, then 0. Actions to Take: •Avoid crowds. •Take precautions by conserving fuel, water, food and mobile phone charge. Be prepared for significant disruption. •Be aware of increased police presence as well as traffic detours and interruptions to transit. •Stay aware of your surroundings. •Monitor local media for updates. •Review daily updates published by UNE (Unión Eléctrica) and follow UNE’s social media accounts. •Stay in touch with family and friends. •Prepare for prolonged power outages by: oKeeping mobile phones and portable battery banks charged oHaving flashlights and spare batteries in a location easy to access oStocking up on nonperishable food and water oPreparing for alternative methods of meeting your medical needs (medical devices requiring power, medicines requiring refrigeration, etc.) •Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive updates from the U.S. embassy. Breaking: Colorado has apparently entered the “add microtransactions to real life” phase of government. Colorado lawmakers watching people get hit with: - rent that scales harder than a Call of Duty SBMM lobby - grocery prices like they’re buying healing potions from a Skyrim merchant - insurance premiums that feel like EA microtransactions - potholes built like Elden Ring boss arenas “Damn that’s unfortunate.” Colorado lawmakers the SECOND somebody buys a video game after working all week: “MISSION UPDATED: PAY THE GAMER TAX.” HB26-1418 genuinely feels like it was written by NPCs that give useless side quests in RPGs. This state really watched an entire generation get financially spawn trapped and said: “You know what they can afford? Another fucking debuff.” At this point Colorado budgeting operates like a dude playing SimCity after snorting pre-workout. Every year it’s: - new DLC fees - battle pass taxation - loot box budgeting - side quest revenue streams - temporary taxes that somehow become permanent expansion packs Meanwhile the average Colorado resident is trying to survive on Veteran difficulty while the state keeps increasing the difficulty slider every patch update. And the funniest part? These people genuinely wonder why younger voters are pissed. Brother the American Dream already got nerfed three updates ago and now Colorado is trying to charge us V-Bucks to access the pause menu. #copolitics

Colorado is once again leading with our values. A new ranking named Colorado the second-best state for animals, recognizing our strong pet ownership, animal protection, and conservation efforts. That’s no accident. It reflects who we are as Coloradans: we care for our pets, protect wildlife, and work to build a state where animals and people can thrive. Our dog Gia thinks we are number one already, don’t tell her 🤫 I’m proud that we’ve continued that work by signing HB26-1011, which helps stop the puppy mill pipeline by ending the sale of dogs and cats in pet stores, and HB26-1229, which recognizes the human-animal bond as an important part of health and well-being. smilehub.org/blog/best-stat…

My Governor told me out of state ranchers keep shooting his wolves so I asked how many wolves he has and he said he 32+ this winter. He just goes to British Columbia and gets a new wolf afterwards so I said it sounds like he's just feeding wild wolves to out of state ranchers and then his husband started crying. Sine die! As I mark my final legislative session as Governor, I’m filled with gratitude for the legislators, staff, advocates, and Coloradans across our state who made their voices heard this session. Together, we kept Colorado moving forward by working to save people money, create more housing Coloradans can afford, strengthen our schools, protect our freedoms, and build safer, healthier communities. We delivered a responsible balanced budget and protected key investments in K-12 education, universal preschool, healthcare, public safety, clean energy, and the programs that help Colorado families thrive. Every session has been about the same promise: building a Colorado where people can live, work, learn, start a business, raise a family, and chase their dreams. The work continues, but today we celebrate the progress we made for Colorado families.Serving this state has been the honor of a lifetime, and I ain’t done yet. For Colorado. For all.💙

With long end bond yields looking like they want to break out to the upside it is likely that interest expense on the debt surpasses Social Security spending sooner than most expect. If you think the cost of capital is going to fall you may want to check your priors. We have entered a new era of sustained higher interest rates and you need to prepare accordingly. If you don't understand how bitcoin protects you in this new environment, you need to spend time educating yourself.

The Interest Expense on US Public Debt hit $1.27 trillion over the last 12 months, another record high. If it continues to increase at the current pace it will soon be the largest line item in the Federal budget, surpassing Social Security.

Ribeye inflation index has a big print. New price $37.99/lb. 17% inflation annualized from October. 18.5% annualized since last June. 90% cumulative since 2020. 11.0% compounded annually over 6+ years. Same ribeye, same store. High rates? Don't care. Bitcoin is the only way out!

Your favorite all in one inflation index has a price update. Same ribeye at the same store is up 6.2% since June, now $34.49/lb. 19% annualized. Since the prior update in 2024, compound annual inflation is 12.6%. Cumulative 72.5% increase since 2020. Bitcoin is the only way out!

NEW: The man who walked in front of a Frontier plane, which nearly ended in catastrophe for the passengers, had 20 previous arrests, including for attempted murder. 41-year-old Michael Mott's most recent arrest was just one month before he trespassed at the airport. In 2005, Mott was arrested for attempted murder with a gun. He later pleaded down to second-degree assault and was sentenced to just 6 years in prison. He was also charged with felony assault using a weapon during his time in prison. When he got out of prison, he continued to commit crimes, including felony assault on a peace officer and domestic violence, along with other crimes, according to the New York Post. Liberalism is a plague on our country. Thanks to a "compassionate" justice system, this guy almost killed everyone on board this plane.

@TheRightAOC @jaredpolis @COEnergyOffice The Laboratory formerly known as NREL did a study on this topic a few years ago, without subsidies only 21% of homes (likely propane heat) would see +NPV from HVAC electrification. (assuming 2024 electricity prices)
