If we had a gov that remotely reflected the ideological diversity of our country, we would have 10-20 libertarian lawmakers like Tom Massie with their own separate party. Everything about the way we structure elections is designed to prevent people like him.

Dear @Avis rented a car at SLC. Picked up my kids and realized it had no rear headrests and gas was empty. Returned it. Was given a smaller car. Never again.

Trump starts the meeting by mentioning the "Horrible, horrible crisis... of autism." He then thanks RFK Jr. for telling him about it.

@bennyjohnson Stop and look at the chart: non-citizens getting SS numbers (and benefits, and the "right" to vote, which they did in large numbers). This is ALL under "Biden."

Insane. Antonio Gracias, working with DOGE at Social Security, found that millions of illegal immigrants let in by Biden are collecting max taxpayer-funded benefits and many voted in 2024.

Elon presents this scary chart of SSNs issued to noncitizens; then through handwaving and conjecture concludes that this proves the Democrats are trying to steal elections. Context: this is a chart of SSNs issued through EBE. This is a program for legal immigrants only. Furthermore, they still can't vote! Elon's friend mysteriously references cases of voter fraud they found by cross-referencing these SSNs, but conveniently provides no numbers! Again, @elonmusk, WHAT ARE THE NUMBERS? My guess would be that a handful of green card holders mistakenly believed they were allowed to vote. It happens. But if there was a conspiracy to commit mass voter fraud, these pathological liars wouldn't keep the data to themselves. Finally, Elon references a law in NYC recently struck down that would have "allowed illegal immigrants to vote". What he doesn't mention is that this law was for voting in city elections. New York cannot make it legal for noncitizens to vote in federal elections, nor can any other state. Unsurprisingly, Elon Musk offers nothing in this town hall besides more fearmongering slop targeted at paranoid, low-info voters.

@BillAckman it was a very important 6 minutes that we can be sure the legacy media nor the Democrats will not be talking about tomorrow.

Hey @StubHub - you need more customer service staff if you're going to support ticket sales. My ticket xfer was canceled by the seller, and 30-minute wait times for support aren't acceptable. I'm buying through @SeatGeek or @VividSeats next time.

@lochhead @m2jr These are all worth digging deeper into
Adam Cochran (adamscochran.eth)@adamscochran

This is why if people think USAID is fraudulent they need to submit sworn proof in reports to Congress. The list of “claimed” abuses includes $20M for “Seasme Street Iraq” which doesn’t exist. The show is “Ahlan Simsim” it’s an Arabic Seasme Street produced in Jordan. It was funded by the MacArthur Foundation with over $100M for production. The show is considered the largest source of early childhood education in the region, and for some children is their only source of educational exposure. In 2021, the US pledged $11M via US AID to partner with Ahlan Simsim’s production to: -Have a school education program to get children interest in school through visits from the puppets, especially in regions where school is not legally obligated. -Provide copies of curriculum based versions of the show in Arabic & English for regions with a lack of educated teachers. -Design a remote learning program for literacy education. -Create an education outreach program for displaced youth in refugee camps. The funds were to be dispersed over a 4-year period, and on milestone based criteria showing success. Literally teaching kids how to read, including in English, not just producing a show. The show is entirely funded by the MacArthur Foundation and the LEGO Foundation. These programs reach 23 million kids in the Middle East, improve reading and writing (in English and Arabic) and *improve the perception of America* in the eyes of the viewers through cultural export. You want to know how you save *billions* on ending anti-US sentiment in the Middle East? It starts with programs where you spend $11M teaching kids we’re all the same, and giving them the skills to succeed. But when Elons pundits tweet out “$20M spent producing Sesame Street Iraq” of course you’re pissed. But when you understand it’s an investment in education that is likely to save the US billions in future intervention, by stabilizing a region, and helping kids learn - then it’s an entirely different calculus. And that’s why USAID should be evaluated in a sworn report by Congress and the American people and not just tweets from Elon.

I don’t care what your politics are. Can we agree that the Federal Government in the United States has been WILDLY INEFFICIENT in its spending for at least the last 50 years? Can reasonable people conclude that we should do something about that?

@elonmusk This is egregious. 29M USD would fund (according to current @NIH paylines, ~20 full 5 year research projects in a basic research lab. (Including overhead costs). Media can rely on subscriptions & ad revenue.

@elonmusk Hold on a minute. HHS is the parent of both Fauci's NIH and the CDC. You're telling me the agencies pushing the Natural Origin narrative were also paying the NYT? "The Bulk of the funds came from the US Department of Health and Human Services at $26.90m"

This is outrageous! The US government funneling tens of millions to the New York Times reeks of cronyism and raises serious questions about media independence. Why the sudden spike in funding? What was the quid pro quo? This kind of cozy relationship between the government and a major news outlet undermines trust in journalism and fuels suspicions of bias. The public deserves transparency - where’s the accountability? This stinks of manipulation, and it’s a slap in the face to every taxpayer and journalist who values a free press.
