A month into this strike and the parties aren’t at the table around the clock bargaining in good faith is unacceptable. San Diegans have patiently waited for this to be resolved. I’ve informed @RepublicService that the City will soon impose penalties for its contract violations.
@TehreelBuck73@The_CenterPoint@RealSpikeCohen You're right. I checked - we spend more/patient than every other oced country, and patient outcomes are worse in Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, and Mexico. End of list.
And "solving a collective action problem to avoid millions of preventable deaths" is the best argument possible
SCOTUS' decision to allow the vaccine mandate on hospitals that take fed money makes sense. If you take their stolen money, you've got to play by their rules.
Now imagine what happens if they're robbing you to pay for 100% of healthcare.
@minos_felix@radiator9987@NPR Because anyone with even a passing familiarity with the staggering corruption in Baltimore politics can see that this is not something done for the public welfare. Someone lying to take out their own retirement money early is assuredly like the 8,000th worst thing that year.
@radiator9987@NPR Maybe yes, maybe not, but it's sure as hell that @NPR has no way of knowing, either, yet they spin the headline like she's a victim. I do wonder why...
Baltimore prosecutor Marilyn Mosby maintains her innocence a day after a federal indictment was filed, accusing her of perjury and making false mortgage applications related to two vacation home purchases.

@NPR I don't have any special knowledge but I'd bet my next paycheck this is just somebody at DoJ with a political axe to grind. The idea that *this* is the corruption in Baltimore that needs to be cracked down on is LAUGHABLE
@natetweets69@morri_mike@dylanmatt Honestly I think this is about when music peaked. Not that it's gone downhill since then, but it was pretty much a solved problem, you can't get better, only different
@ISpyPolitics@The_CenterPoint@RealSpikeCohen There's hundreds of billions being invested in bonds with negative real returns because there's nothing better to do with it. Phrma would continue to have money thrown at it
@ISpyPolitics@The_CenterPoint@RealSpikeCohen That might be an issue if there wasn't enough money to go around, and the reduction in profitability led to more profitable investments crowding it out. But rn, and for a long time now, there's been so much more investment cash available than there is good investments to spend on
@AUDIOMIND@The_CenterPoint@RealSpikeCohen I have done research out of this dataset many times! And the data is from the OCED, one of the most reputable economic organizations in the world. They have many PhDs validating the data, and being very public about their process. Them falsifying data would be world news.
@brendanbargmann@The_CenterPoint@RealSpikeCohen Let me guess, you have never seen this before you just searched, and then shared it without actually reading it? Instead of just believing anything on the internet, have you validated their underlying data or just blindly accepted it on faith bc of your bs partisan narrative?
@jsmacked@G1Gusty@Zarasha4@Andre__Damon@DataDrivenMD Those two things were coincident but one didn't cause the other.
There was a lockdown and the federal govt sent workong people a couple grand and turned an absolute firehose of money at wall st.
They could have had the lockdown and given the exact same amount to the people
🚨BREAKING🚨
US Government to end daily COVID death reporting
A document issued issued Jan 6 by the US Health and Human Services tells hospitals they are no longer required to report daily COVID-19 deaths to the federal government starting Feb 2.
Story broken by @DataDrivenMD
@PaulEJohnston@washingtonpost The president, by rule, controls the party. Anyone who ran against an incumbent would be running against the entire Dem establishment - think what happened to Bernie, but more overt.
If you're in Bernie's lane, might be doable and still have a career, for anyone else you're out
@washingtonpost What’s the deal with “If Biden doesn’t run…”? Is there some law that says other potential candidates can’t run against him? Maybe not “polite,” but maybe best for the nation.
@TonyPauline@HankRearden1@WDWNT I have had offers of over 250 for my Splash mountain funko pop. A discontinued land is one thing. The figment bucket will be heavy circulation.
The line for the Figment popcorn bucket has a quoted 6.5-7 hour wait, and stretches from Pop Eats, to World Showcase Promenade, to Test Track, then to the EPCOT Experience.
@AvianDentures@1RAOKADAY@KevinWGlass@AlecStapp Honestly even simpler - effectively infinite land for the first 200 years + representative government + inherited democratic institutions .
@1RAOKADAY@KevinWGlass@AlecStapp America's secret sauce seems to be a combination of:
-a shitton of arable land
-being basically uninvadable
-awesome colleges
-being defined as a nation of immigrants, rather than as an ethnostate
-having a nat'l story that celebrates entrepreneurs over nobility/bloodlines
