Also started on this little #iOS app last Sunday to take a photo of a waveform and convert it into #audio, hopefully will have some time over the weekend to continue working on it - Results come out pretty #lofi and crunchy, will be great for single cycles!#buildinpublic

I would love to see a public forum where it is discussed why this is so bad. Is it just the economics of it? What are the sociological ramifications of it? You could discuss it on @X Spaces with other experts, as well as a few who disagree. What I am wondering: Is this really so bad with the advent of advanced robotics and AI? It would be amazing for this to be fleshed out with fellow futurists.

@themovercell @TheGingerBill @theo The main problem with the majority of immediate mode renderers (Imgui included), is the lack of accessibility features that are very well supported in modern browser based rendering engines (think, screen readers/text to speech, tab indexes for keyboard nav, aria descriptors etc)

@TheGingerBill @theo I'd say something: it's a bit screwy but Dear IMGUI is such a crazy good choice,it renders windows as just OpenGL/Vulkan/directdraw(ew)/metal(ew) You can just put up a call for creating a window, call all the UI elements to be created, and then call for the window to be complete

After watching @theo's video on "Is Electron really that bad?", my personal view is still that it is very bad BUT that's because there isn't really a simple native way to write decent GUIs. There is not a good native alternative for people to use. youtube.com/watch?v=WdmfFm…

@TheGingerBill I'm trying to work on it. Not because I'm the best person for the job, but because I don't see anyone else trying to do anything about it. Also I have no day job atm

Electron won not because javascript is easy (it's not). Electron won because you can make pretty UIs and be cross platform.

Isn't there some kind of gesture for right clicking? I don't currently use a Mac and to be honest, when I did, I preferred to use a cheap USB PC mouse and put the Apple mouse away in a drawer. Apple's single click wasn't originally them trying to be different but more historical inertia. When Windows introduced right-click menus in 1995, Apple was near a low point with an OS they struggled to add features to. Before that PCs had multiple mouse buttons but Windows didn't use them.

@_kant01 👍 This is why @TauriApps is so great, use front-end tooling for the UI and do the complex business logic in Rust.

js & ts are the easiest and most adaptable stacks—that's why they're everywhere. but go is amazing, and i'll use go in my next project and try rust. go, rust, and bun are great, but nothing can stand in front of js when it comes to ui. tell me if i'm wrong.

Considering creating a custom multi-platform game engine for your small/mid-size game? Here you have a small library to enjoy the process: github.com/raysan5/raylib Need some support tooling for your custom engine? Consider taking a look to @raylibtech or outsourcing new ones. 😉

@jjbbllkk When I read 'my sibling', I fully expected an album by Jeremiah, mastered by Jeremy - but this is super awesome too!! (Although the other thing now needs to happen, can you have a word with Jeremiah please? 🙏)
