People that make comments like this are clearly unaware of how life functions.
In Detroit in the month of June, the sun will RISE a few minutes before 6am, every single day. And it won't set until after 9pm.
If we were to shift to standard time AND move to Central time, you'd be shifting those times two hours ahead. We would have the sun rising before 4am, and setting just after 7pm.
If there's a person out there that wants the sun to rise before 4am when everyone is sleeping, I have yet to meet them.

That means an equal number of hours before and after noon each day. This also means earlier sunrises which are significantly better for establishing a healthy circadian rhythm. The second reason is that nearly ONE THIRD of US counties are in the wrong timezone. A significant swath of the country isn’t only an artificial hour ahead because of daylight time… but TWO HOURS ahead of true solar time. Year-round daylight time, especially without recalibrating time zones, would establish this error permanently, affecting millions of Americans. We should be letting the Sun dictate the day the way God made it. Arbitrary, artificial tampering would be worse for us all. Fix the time zones and affix standard time.

Kind of great that the Catholic church looked at the administrative skill and finesse of a bishop that let a disagreement explode into a city-wide schism and went "ah perfect, this is exactly what we're looking for in a pope"

@DNSWilson I agree that all the candidates are cut from the same cloth. They became conservative to get conservative votes. But Elliot “erred” a lot worse than all the others and did so recently.

BC Conservative members:
You have the opportunity to select a candidate in Caroline Elliot proposing the most conservative platform in Canada, the most conservative of BC in a lifetime.
She's hard-working, smart and charismatic.
You've been told she's a secret Liberal: she trashed Christians beliefs (she's Catholic); she was a prominent, supportive BC Liberal (the right-wing party in BC before the Conservatives); she supported school vaccine mandates (totally wrong, poor judgment).
While the vaccine mandate is essential to me, none of these candidates were in the Freedom Convoy. Almost everyone failed the Covid test. That is what made it so difficult.
Elliot erred. So did the others. I
I can live with it. I must. Elliot seems properly oriented since.
Among imperfect candidates, she has the strongest and most coherent stated conservative positions. She leads even KLF in this regard. She's been leading the campaign on every such key issue.
Don't let collateral attacks push you off your target. If she's nobody's second, there's a real risk that Elliot loses to the left/center side of the party in Black or Milobar. I can support this side over the NDP, but it's not what I want.
Be realistic. If she isn't your first pick, place your second vote for a strong conservative candidate: Caroline Elliot. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
Please join me in supporting a winnable conservative campaign.

Been reading both Les Misérables and Great Expectations this year
A few passing details about their food have jumped out to me.
While there are feasts in both books, at several points, the day-to-day meals include just a hunk of cheese or a huge slice of bread with a small glass of wine
That's it.
The modern man cannot perceive how wildly rich even our poorest members of society are.

I came from evangelly land. I grew up there. It's horrible. Confessional Lutheranism is WAAAY better!
