@MattGlassman312 Van Buren’s first language was Dutch. But ironically he was the first U.S. president who was born in the U.S.

@FischerKing64 GPA system is outdated. How can we treat 99% and 95% the same in GPA? Ridiculous. Every point should count. As a person who grew up in China, I never truly understood the GPA system.

@darrelltalksfi He needs to focus on keeping his wife happy. After all, it’s the wife’s money. His wife can find a 30 something and kick him out anytime.

My coworker is in his 50s and set to inherit $20M from his in-laws. He doesn’t have any kids. I asked him if he regrets not having kids. He said he’d give up his entire inheritance to go back and have kids. Think about that.

@realEstateTrent Well, I guess you haven’t found out how AI tokens work. The amount of electricity and water that requires to run a decent size of data center is quite significant.

Got a bid to paint my house. I ran it through AI, had it put together some questions, and sent it to the painter. He responded with this, and I never heard from him again.

@ChildersRadio It’s playoff season for NBA and NHL now. Baseball just started not long ago, and we had the NFL draft. People will start paying attention once the tournament starts.

Is it me or is there just zero buzz for the World Cup? There were many that thought hosting in 2026 was going to create incredible momentum for soccer in the United States moving forward. It’s like only a few weeks away and I feel like absolutely nobody cares. #fifa #worldcup

@realmatteouse @akafaceUS This is like 5 people job for 12 hours to do a 2500 sqft house. Maybe your house is only 900 sqft…

@akafaceUS 12 hours for 2 people is 600 @$50 an hour plus cleaning supplies and hassle fee....its like a $1000-$1500 to do the job. So no I would never pay $5000 for a $1500 job at best

@UltraRunnerPod If you are paying cash, why would you consider UC or CSU in the first place? Something is off here… there are over 2500 universities in the U.S.. Some of the UCs are alright. But I am sure there are many universities that better suit your daughter. Wait… is this a rage bait?

I'd heard how crazy the college admissions process is, but now seeing it in reality has blown my mind. My kid has great grades (4.2 weighted) with a ton of APs, leadership ec's, a very solid athletic resume, parents paying cash, etc., all at a private college-preparatory HS, and she has basically no chance of getting into a UC or CSU for her major. Not sure what needs to be done, but this is crazy. 🙄😩

@AdamSchefter @SethWickersham @DVNJr Show the voting record! If cheating was the reason, are the voters going to apply the same reasoning to Brady when he’s eligible? If cheating was not the reason, then why?

Bill Belichick, the 8-time Super Bowl-winning HC, is not a first-ballot Hall of Famer, per @SethWickersham and @DVNJr. Belichick fell short of the 40 out of 50 votes needed for induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. espn.com/nfl/story/_/id…

Low-frequency electromagnetic fields can degrade collagen, weaken tendons, and cause soft-tissue damage at levels regulators call "safe." We have a real world case study proving this: An NFL team whose practice facility sits next to a massive electrical substation. THREAD 🧵 peteranthonycowan.substack.com/p/could-chroni…

One thing the international stadiums never seem ready for is how much the Americans indulge in concessions. The tap is already run out. Food is already sold out and the stadium is definitely not built for concessions and easy maneuverability.

@realEstateTrent Hard to say in this case because of lack of context. But learn how to handle winning or losing is an important lesson in life. That’s why we love sports so much. For me, it’s about trying to compete. If people don’t care when they win or lose, they don’t care about life.

Okay, please tell me what I’m missing here. I got to Little League this morning for my five-year-old’s “championship” game - whatever that means. Basically the last game of the season. We got there early, and the game before ours was wrapping up. Those kids were maybe six, a year older. As the final out happens, I notice parents on the losing team absolutely losing it. One mom literally yells, “Are you kidding me?!” Others are glaring at each other, looking disgusted, like something tragic just happened. Meanwhile, I’m standing there smiling - because… they’re six. And I’m thinking, what is going on with people? Am I the one who’s off here? I couldn’t care less if my kid’s team wins or loses a Little League game. It has zero impact on life. None. But these parents are the complete opposite. So now I’m wondering - who actually has the blind spot here? Them, or me?

So what are we supposed to do? We can’t afford to keep interest rates high because we can’t afford the cost to service the debt. If we lower rates then inflation rips higher and we all suffer as prices soar. What’s the real solution? Money printing is not a logical answer
