@PearlKevinPrice @Sam_Fidler You are using Lucy Mack’s statement as your “evidence” that he made up the whole Book of Mormon. How are you drawing that conclusion? How am I supposed to verify for myself your claim that he made it all up?

@catcolalex @Sam_Fidler What makes you think there was any written document of the stories that Joseph Smith imagined in his HEAD? I never said that so why are you demanding that?

@PearlKevinPrice @Sam_Fidler That is your evidence? Where can I read these documented “amusing recitals” so I can compare to the text of the Book of Mormon? Making unsubstantiated claims against Joseph and then immediately demanding that I substantiate some claim you attribute to me is not how this works.

@catcolalex @Sam_Fidler Now, if you don’t mind, would you care to enlighten everyone on every detail of the process in which the D&C revelations came about and why so many revisions were justified years after their original recordings?

@thesirbacon93 @FatherChrisVor1 You are inferring that, not the text of Galatians 1. You have still not been able to substantiate your claim that the Book of Mormon preaches another gospel. It may be because you have never read it?

A Mormon recently asked: “If Mormons are, by definition, not Christian, then what is, by definition, a Christian?” And honestly, that conversation becomes unhelpful very quickly because people often make it deeply personal. But it should not be personal. A Christian is someone baptized into and confessing the apostolic faith concerning the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Christianity has always had boundaries, teachings, and creeds defining that faith. That is not hatred. Every religion on earth does this in some way. For Christians, the question is not: “Are Mormons nice people?” Many are kind, sincere, moral, and deeply devoted. The question is: “Does Mormonism teach the same God, Christ, and Gospel taught by the Church through the centuries?” And this is where the disagreement comes. Christianity teaches there is one eternal God. (Deuteronomy 6:4) It teaches the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are one God, not three separate exalted beings. It teaches Christ is the eternal Word who “was God.” (John 1:1) And from the earliest centuries, Christians guarded these beliefs through creeds, councils, worship, preaching, baptism, and the writings of the Fathers. So when Christians say Mormonism is not Christianity in the historic theological sense, they are not usually saying: “We hate Mormons.” Or: “Mormons are evil.” They are saying Mormon theology departs fundamentally from the Christian understanding of God, Christ, and salvation handed down through the centuries. People can disagree with that conclusion. But it is important to understand what Christians actually mean when they say it.

Mormons are, by definition, not Christian? Somebody, please, tell me, what is, by definition, a Christian?

@thesirbacon93 @FatherChrisVor1 We also believe wholeheartedly in that verse and could very easily point it right back at you, you still have not shown me anything that the gospel we preach is any different than the gospel contained within the Bible. It is the same gospel.

@PearlKevinPrice @Sam_Fidler You are the one making unsubstantiated claims about Joseph Smith memorizing information and relaying that to the book of Mormon, despite all the evidence to the contrary. As the one making the claim, the burden of proof is on you not me.

@Sam_Fidler Great question! Everyone’s minds are different and it’s not like Smith’s day job would prevent him from creating stories while he worked. I imagine being a farmer, most things can be done without even thinking so your brain has time to think of other things. Like driving a car!

@PearlKevinPrice @Gunstar_One It takes a lot more faith to believe this stretch of a possibility, than to believe in the possibility that God could reveal more scripture and follow his pattern of calling prophets just like he has since the beginning of time.

@Gunstar_One OMG, did I say that Smith memorized a script? No. That’s your first misunderstanding. Smith had the stories memorized, not every word. Why else would he spend a year preparing an alternate beginning after losing the 116 pages?

Protestants: "The Bible is against infant baptism." The Bible: Lydia’s whole household was baptized. Also the Bible: - The jailer and his whole household were baptized. - Stephanas’ household was baptized. Guess what the Scripture never said: "Except the children."

Dear LDS , I personally don’t say you’re not Christians because of not understanding the trinity correctly. Admittedly, it’s hard to explain, because that’s how AMAZING God is. I say you’re not Christian because you follow a false prophet. Past Mormons symbolically slit their throats in the temple for 150 years. They believe they can become gods. They believe Jesus is just a spirit child, he’s the greatest and most intelligent of all spirit children, not creator of all. You guys have a 2nd anointing that’s done, only by a special invite that basically seals the deal for you becoming a god and all the other promises they bring with it. It’s definitely not the gospel Jesus preached or the apostles.. It is Joseph Smiths religion you guys are in. Not a restoration of what the apostles preached. The Bible teaches Jesus created all. Even angels. Even Lucifer… so it’s not just about the trinity. It’s the LDS church inverting the gospel and not knowing who Jesus is. I love my LDS friends and family and the reason I say these things is because I love my LDS friends and family.
All Those In Favor@ATIF_Podcast

The problem with the trinity isn’t it being “unbiblical” or illogical. My issue is forcefully dogmatizing one single complex answer to a philosophical question, and making it the litmus test of true Christian faith.

Nephi had a visionary experience. He was shown the beginning to the end. Like Moses, Isaiah, Elisha, Elijah, and just about every other Old Testament prophet. While in a vision, I’m sure you could both see, and be instructed on just about anything, like the coming of a Messiah, or, the method of his death, and his eventual resurrection. Piece of cake for a God to reveal.

How did Nephi know what crucifixion was if his family fled the Middle East decades before the practice is attested to? 🧐

@DeannaHerrod good for you, I guess. Learning about Joseph SMith's polygamy affected my testimony greatly. (Did I use that word correctly? Is it affect or effect? Either way, you know what I mean.)

I served a Mormon mission from 2002 - 2004. None of us missionaries knew that Joseph Smith practiced polygamy. I was never taught that as a Mormon kid. I don't think I found out until I was in my mid-twenties, and I didn't find out about it at church. I found out about it online.

@UncommonYield @BlackBlessedLDS @ThoughtfulSaint You have to understand that she is framing the question to set him up for a dunk of her own, reframing her question to deflect from a gotcha isn’t avoiding the answer, it’s ensuring clarity on what he means without accepting the bad intent of a badly framed question

I’m sure it’s the editing here so this isn’t a knock on @ThoughtfulSaint by any means just something I have noticed with others. I always wonder why members don’t just say “yes” and then explain further. That way it doesn’t seem like we are beating around the bush. For example: “Yes. Now let me explain further. All you need to be saved has been done by The Son through His Infinite Atonement and Resurrection. Being saved from death is a gift promised to all who enter this Earth life. Saved from sin requires repentance through Jesus Christ who performed the ultimate sacrifice for us. However, what you need to acquire EXALTATION is through The Ordinances by the power of The Priesthood that is found only in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It hasn’t always been through the LDS Church though. God has ordained different “vehicles” for this to be accomplished in each dispensation. In these last days, I believe that ordained vehicle is the @Ch_JesusChrist. With that said, no one will be “LDS” or “Mormon” in the next life. We will all be JOINT HEIRS with Christ because we SUBMITTED ourselves to Him and did all that He asked. Now you might ask, “What about everyone else? Way more non-Mormons than Mormons even in these last days, let alone human existence.” - Well, let me dive deeper and talk to you about the work we do for our ancestors! 🙏🏾
Allie Beth Stuckey@conservmillen

I had a lively conversation with Jacob Hansen about mormonism, the Trinity, salvation, and if Humans, Angels, and God are all the same species. Who is eligible for heaven? Is God all-knowing? Can believers become the gods of their own universe? Nothing is off the table. Episode drops Monday. Stay tuned!
