How can @elonmusk simultaneously hold the views that you don’t need to save for retirement because AI/robotics will create mass abundance, Universal HIGH INCOME is coming and the current birth rate is a existential crisis?

@BenMyers @elonmusk I don’t think Elon actually thinks very deeply about things and just says and or does stuff. It’s one of his best and worst attributes

@TheRealAdamG In the short term, having .skills and MCPs instead of raw CLIs and APIs will make coding agents dumber.

developers.openai.com/api/docs/guide… **NEW: GPT-5.5 Prompting Guide** "GPT-5.5 works best when prompts define the outcome and leave room for the model to choose an efficient solution path. Compared with earlier models, you can often use shorter, more outcome-oriented prompts: describe what good looks like, what constraints matter, what evidence is available, and what the final answer should contain. Avoid carrying over every instruction from an older prompt stack. Legacy prompts often over-specify the process because earlier models needed more help staying on track. With GPT-5.5, that can add noise, narrow the model’s search space, or lead to overly mechanical answers. For more detail on GPT-5.5 behavior changes, start with the Using GPT-5.5 guide. This guide focuses on prompt changes that follow from those behavior changes. The patterns here are starting points. Adapt them to your product surface, tools, evals, and user experience goals."

@thsottiaux I still don’t understand people that let these things run all night coding. It can already code more in five minutes then you can code in a week and I’ve never seen it work longer than five minutes and create something good are you guys just not checking this code or what?

With some small tweaks, Codex can work for days on hard tasks. We will release some changes to make this easier to use for everyone. What’s the hardest task you’ve seen GPT-5.5 succeed at?

4 days straight refactoring a 5,800-line legacy Java Spring Boot monolith (Java 8 -> clean Java 21 + records + virtual threads). It perfectly kept complex business rules across 12 modules, recommended better cache strategies with Caffeine, and even discovered an ugly race condition that I had missed for years. Long context zero drift 🔥 The new multi-day stamina is really game-changing for Java codebases. What is the wildest Java project that Codex has internally crushed? 👀

@chadidbarnero @WizardLab123 I made this early 2025. A lot has changed since then. At the time of making it, there wasn’t a way to do it with ai. I’d be curious to know if it’s possible now.

In case you didn’t know, I hacked Mario Kart to pay out bitcoin, streaming in real time to your Lightning wallet from my nodes. I manually reverse engineered the game’s live RAM without the help of AI. Then I wrote all the code myself the old way, by hand. Anyway, we’ll be playing all day, both days at @TheBitcoinConf. Find me and @briimhd at the main entrance in front of the Expo hall. The top 4 players will then go on to compete on the main stage at the end of day two to win bitcoin, prizes, and bragging rights. 🫡🏆

Question for a payments expert. What I pay for something by card in Spain, the reader offers me the choice to pay in euros or dollars. Obviously dollars are removed from my account. And the cafe gets euros. So what’s really going on in the transaction that requires this step?

Speculative rally: The recent Bitcoin price increase is completely driven by demand in the perpetual futures market. Meanwhile, spot demand is still contracting (although at a slower pace). The same happened on January, when Bitcoin peaked at $98K. There are risks of a correction if traders start taking profits while spot demand continues to contract.

@KillaXBT In every bull cycle so far, altcoins have gone parabolic right after Bitcoin topped—except in this one. Either the top still isn’t in, or this cycle is different, and past events won’t reliably predict what comes next.

$BTC has traded below Realized Price in EVERY major bear cycle. 2011, 2015, 2018, 2022 That means every major drawdown so far has eventually revisited Realized Price. Realized Price is 56K.
