I learned today that @solid_js powers TV apps like Peacock and HBO Max via a custom renderer hooked into it. Very cool presentation at @RVAJS , just solidified my love for Solid.

My fiance is learning JavaScript and has mentioned she might be interested in finding a community of other people learning how to code, does anybody of any such communities, like a discord or slack channel or something like that?

@hbomax HunterXHunter has 148 episodes. You're only showing 99. The data from the API comes back with 115, paginated - looks like the UI doesn't go to the next array.

"Weapons were the first warning.” We analyzed dozens of videos, spoke with witnesses and reviewed police guidelines to try to understand how the police in Philadelphia used tear gas on trapped protesters. Watch our investigation. nyti.ms/2A2pf0D

@lfredolo Use case: I have an open source project that I have an open PR for changes - but I don't want my project to need to wait for them to be merged... How would you recommend I open the PR and replace one file in that package with a local copy?

@chiefcll You mean in the case where it's one huge file? A "postinstall" in package.json will trigger after an npm install/npm ci. There you can run a script to rewrite it. No articles afaik, maybe I'll write one. Below is a quick example. Hope that helps!

The key here is “open source”. When you like 99% of a library but you wish one function accepted a callback, your only options are forking, or try to convince the authors. When authors export esm, and everything is in modules. You can do “pseudo forks” w resolver aliases.
