At the direction of the White House, Republicans changed a very bipartisan bill to establish the Women’s History Museum bill into political nonsense. Republicans are handing Trump and his Ballroom Committee control over the design, construction, and location of the museum. They are even trying to control which women can be included. It’s ridiculous. Alongside @RepJoeMorelle , we are opposing this bill. Women deserve better than this political show.

The charge was for seditious conspiracy, which basically means planning to take down the U.S. government by force or trying to block laws from being carried out. About 18 people got charged with this, mainly from the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys groups. Around 10 of them ended up either getting convicted or pleading guilty. In total, more than 1,500 people faced federal charges. Hundreds of them were charged with assaulting or getting in the way of law enforcement, with over 500 counts, some of which included serious felonies for using weapons like flagpoles, poles, barriers, and chemical sprays. Plus, over 140 officers ended up getting injured.
