As a society, we have a duty to develop responsible, evidence-based approaches to intervene in nature in order to improve the welfare of wild animals. No one deserves to endure being eaten alive, dying slowly from disease, parasites, or starvation. We can and must change nature.

Classic strawman of the anti-predation position. Abolishing predation doesn't necessitate ecological collapse. Anti-predationists believe that predation’s useful functions, like population control, should be replaced by humane methods, like fertility-regulating gene drives.

@ValenceFirst You never answered my last reply. So please, why do you think it's better for all animals to die instead of just the prey animals that feed the predator animals? Some animals suffering and dying seems better than ALL of them, but I guess we disagree

@wescillus @QuirkySystem Anti-predationism is about helping the victims of predation, not blaming predators. It's essentially the view that predation causes immense suffering, rights violations, etc., (diff frameworks have diff concerns), and thus should, in the long-term, be abolished.

@wescillus @QuirkySystem Like how we can see disease as harmful because it causes so much suffering and premature death and we can see it as a moral obligation to abolish disease, all while not "blaming" viruses, seeing them as moral agents, etc. It's about helping, not blame.

I bought a lot more apple varieties to taste test! Also wanted to buy some dog treats, just to see what they're like, but all the ones I saw were animal-based It's too bad that manufacturers don't appreciate that there's actual market demand for vegan pet food. (I'm the demand)
