The ongoing CAB3 public consultations are fundamentally flawed, exclusionary, and lacking credibility. The process is being conducted in a manner that undermines genuine public participation and violates core democratic principles. A consultation that restricts citizens voices cannot be considered legitimate. CDF rejects this process in its entirety and calls for a National Referendum.

The Constitution Defenders Forum strongly condemns the brutal attack of our National Leader, Gilbert Mutubuki, by ZANU-PF militia in Chiredzi. Mutubuki was denied the opportunity to speak at a Parliament-led public consultation on Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB3) after being identified by facilitators aligned to ZANU-PF. Following the hearing, he, Kingsley Sibanda, and other CDF members were violently assaulted while leaving the venue. This attack represents a direct assault on democratic participation, freedom of expression, and constitutional rights. Mutubuki is currently receiving medical attention and remains under close medical supervision. CDF remains steadfast in defending constitutionalism and will not be intimidated. #NoTo2030

A debate has intensified in Zimbabwe over changes to the country’s electoral system. People are participating in consultations on a proposed constitutional amendment that seeks to extend President Mnangagwa’s term until 2030 without an election. Al Jazeera's Haru Mutasa reports.

CDF Bulawayo Federation member, Sheila Mujakachi, recounts the events that unfolded following her principled stance in rejecting Amendment Bill No. 3. In her narration, she details how, after boldly expressing her opposition, she was targeted, harassed, and physically assaulted, dragged through the venue, and subjected to intimidation for simply exercising her right to be heard. We strongly condemn this violence and intimidation directed at dissenting voices of reason. No citizen should be attacked for standing up for the Constitution. This only further exposes a process that is deeply flawed, unsafe, and lacking legitimacy. We stand firmly with all defenders on the frontline. We will not be intimidated, and we will not be silenced. #Noto2030

ALERT: Unidentified men abducted Denford Sithole the young man who delivered a passionate, powerful and based argument against agenda 2030. He is just a student and member of @Zinasuzim who wants a better Zimbabwe for everyone. Human rights abuses and closure of the democratic space are the main reasonwr are against CAB3! This is exactly is why we must resist Agenda 2030 and are DEMANDING A REFERENDUM for the proposed constitutional amendments aimed to extend the term of office for elected officials! FREE DENFORD!!! Everyone supporting Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 should remember that the process is already tainted by these actions of busing people, as happened in Bulawayo. The consultation for Bulawayo was meant for residents of Bulawayo, not for imported crowds designed to manufacture consent. Zimbabwe will remain trapped in a permanent crisis if even the most basic democratic processes are manipulated in this way.

Zvimba West March Demonstrates Strong Grassroots Support for Amendment No. 3. Zvimba West recorded a successful and well attended march yesterday, as hundreds converged at Murombedzi Growth Point under the leadership of the Constituency’s legislator and Deputy Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, Hon. Mercy Maruva Dinha, in support of Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 and the President’s Vision 2030. Notably, the turnout was organic, there was no bussing, coercion, or artificial mobilisation. People participated voluntarily, driven by conviction, awareness, and genuine support for the reform agenda. Held ahead of the Parliamentary Public Hearings scheduled for Monday 30 March 2026 in Raffingora (Katawa), the march signalled growing grassroots momentum and points to strong community participation in the upcoming consultations. Hon. Dinha took the opportunity to unpack the contents and significance of Amendment No. 3, with participants engaging on the importance of active involvement in the constitutional process. The presence of Provincial leadership, DCC members, councillors, and affiliates further underscored a united and coordinated approach. From Murombedzi to Raffingora, the message is clear, Zvimba West stands united, and the momentum is unstoppable. @DinhamercyHon @mpslswzim @ZANUPF_Official @edmnangagwa @snakeG633 @HonMachakaire @ZimFirstLady @oczmk @Cliff_EmilyT @makusha_effort @ChiwaraMambo @hazelwekwagondo

At Ngezi High School, Mamina, the Amendment No. 3 rhythm came alive through the song “Regai President Mnangagwa vambotonga,” as ZANU PF Mashonaland West Women’s League Vice Chairlady, Cde Abigail Gava (MP), took to the dance floor alongside Provincial Chairperson Cde Mary Mliswa. What stands out, and cannot be taken away from her, is her unwavering devotion to the Party, to President Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa , and to every programme of ZANU PF. Her presence is never symbolic, it is active, energetic, and infectious. Wherever there is a party programme, her commitment is visible, her energy unmistakable. This is not something forced, it is natural, inborn. A true cadre who leads through action, inspires through passion, and constantly drives the spirit that keeps the Party vibrant, united, and strong. @ZANUPF_Official @snakeG633 @CatBig46903 @MairosiWatungwa @makusha_effort @Tinoten53374277 @gabbyguava @oczmk @TembaMliswa
