I was doing some research and found that there are a lot of Muslims in the world. Billions, actually. Just an unbelievably massive audience. Also — and this is totally unrelated — I think I may be having a change of heart about everything I’ve ever believed and advocated for.

@Murray_2nd @ShitpostRock2 Prime 4 isn’t that bad tbf. It’s like a 7/10 game. It’s just from a franchise where the other three are all 9/10s or better. So it’s a bit of a disappointment seeing something that’s just decent fun coming out of it.

@ShitpostRock2 Metroid Prime 1 was like this. Everyone thought it was idiotic to make Metroid a FPS and hire a studio from Texas to boot. Sadly, now with Prime 4 it was the polar opposite.

As long as you’re not watering down the Gospel or telling people that it’s ok to keep in sinful lifestyles, do what works to bring people to the Gospel! You’re in the trenches on this topic, you know what works better than I do

I hear what you're saying, but no one had a problem with me calling myself an ex-gay when I was in that stage of my life. The church loved that title. I generally choose my words based on audience; gay when I'm around others like myself who understand what I mean, and same-sex attracted around most Christians. The problem is, Christians hear the word gay and assume you're dancing naked in parades wearing a rainbow Speedo. Also, same-sex attraction is a term that was used during the ex-gay movement, so it carries a lot of baggage for some people. It's also Christianese, so people outside of church don't even know why you would use it. For me, I'll take the heat from Christians and use gay Christian and keep the pride flag in my bio, because it's not there for them. I have it there for other LGBT people to know Jesus loves them and salvation is for them as well.

@sidebeliever @ostrachan Yeah I definitely think that’s fair. I reject the idea that someone’s inclinations toward particular sins themselves sinful. I’m not super familiar with all the Alberry stuff, but if the only issue is his past sexual sins, if he’s publicly repented of those I don’t see the issue?

@cmanuelhill @ostrachan I appreciate the clarification. I'm not necessarily defending Allberry in all of this. I'm taking issue with the piling on and vilifying of anything and everything Side B related. It's been very ugly.

@sidebeliever @ostrachan I would prolly say it would be helpful to separate your sexual desires from self descriptors, but I understand that that’s just how we use terms. So like, an ex-alcoholic I would discourage labelling themself as that and just say they are a Christian who struggled w/ alcohol.

@sidebeliever @ostrachan To be clear, I misunderstood what your position was! I thought you were saying it’s ok for Christians to engage in a homosexuality. I’m unfamiliar with Allberry but he seems like he’s a good Christian man who’s trying to help people who struggle with the same desires he does.

@sidebeliever @ostrachan It’s understandable to have sins that we struggle with, brother. But don’t let those sins define you. If you are a Christian be a Christian, but don’t hide or pretend your sin in the eyes of God isn’t sin. Be open and earnest with it, and ask God for help! ❤️
