If the Jones Act goes away, U.S. maritime collapses: 🌍 Foreign flags flood domestic routes 🏚️ Shipyards go dark 👷‍♀️ Jobs disappear 🔗 Supply chains outsourced 🛡️ National security undercut Stop the waiver. @WhiteHouse @realDonaldTrump @JDVance

@dantebenedetti3 @sfrantzman What do you mean fools lol? The reason why Hamas and Hezbollah still exist is because bibi refused to answer those questions cause he calculated that a forever war was advantageous politically

@sfrantzman of course, a long-term strategy is desirable. BUT, first one has to survive the short- & medium-terms. any l-t strategy developed a yr or 2 or 3 ago wouldn't be of much value today, would it? reminds one of the fools who were yammering in 2023, "but what abt the day after?"

@mercoglianos @VanceGinn @cpgrabow I think this makes a stronger case for slowly repealing the jones act and reinvesting American energy export surplus into our shipping industry

This what that waiver is providing Americans. MV Bulldog shipped 300k barrels of gas from New Orleans to Port Everglades. Was their a shortage of gas in South Florida above the normal consumption rate due to Hormuz? Also, she loaded that cargo on March 12 and the waiver did not go into effect until March 17. At that time she was sitting off Vera Cruz, Mexico with this load. What appears to have happened is that they saw an opportunity to make some quick money off the US. As she sailed to Port Everglades and sat off the port for a week and then offloaded. Then sailed to New Jersey, loaded 300k bbls of gasoline and pulled it out of the US and delivered it to France. So, she could have just taken that load of gas she had off Vera Cruz and gone right to France but instead saw the opportunity to double pump and dump a load in Florida and then pull a load of New Jersey. So, this is definitely a succes for Valero Refining and the owner of the ships - Grace Ocean, Singapore. Florida has 300k barrels of gas but New Jersey does not when the mid-Atlantic has higher gas prices than the Lower Atlantic.

"We commend President Trump’s decision to issue an additional 90-day suspension of the century-old Jones Act, and we ask Congress to make the suspension permanent by repealing this outdated law. The Jones Act requires cargo shipped domestically to be carried on vessels that are U.S.-built, owned, and flagged and crewed by Americans. While originally intended to strengthen American maritime capabilities, it has become a costly, counterproductive barrier to efficient commerce. Its repeal is long overdue." I'm glad to join this coalition letter by @AFPhq! @AmericanFreedom @taxreformer @AmerComm @AEA

SCOOP: President Trump's decision to suspend a controversial maritime law during the Iran war has made it easier to ship oil across the U.S. — and now he wants to keep it that way, according to American officials. trib.al/Jas1GQk

Weren’t the Houthis, for a short time, a cause celebre among some western students… “turn another ship around”? It’s interesting the same folk in the west who will shout about “gun violence” always seem to like the guns in the hands of kids in foreign countries…

Children undergoing training in #Houthis indoctrination camps. This is the future time bomb, not only for #Yemen, but for the region and the world. Unless the Houthis are stopped, this threat will continue to grow.

The “forbidden experiment” — raising a child with no language exposure — is forbidden for very good reasons. But has anyone studied the opposite, what happens to children in extreme polyglot households? Like where they’re hearing 8 languages with equal regularity from birth?

@elikowaz Unironically comparing Israel to Sparta is so retarded. Sparta was a terrible place to live for the average helot outside of its eventual loss of hegemony

Netanyahu called Israel 'Super Sparta' recently. We all know what happened to Sparta. Now he says Israel is at the height of its power. Military power without political strategy isn't strength. No plan for Gaza, no plan for Lebanon, no endgame with Iran, creeping annexation in the West Bank, no real normalization progress, no plan for when Trump is gone — and an international reputation in freefall. He's governing for himself, not for Israel's future.
