@nishantak @SnazzyLabs Fortunately, despite the most confusing settings app, the iPhone seems to remember preferences. I use fixed stereo for music/podcasts. Head tracked Spatial Audio for Apple TV. Works quite well.

@SnazzyLabs Yes I love having my near field in ear speakers sound like it’s coming from two different tunnels unequally spaced away. Head tracking when you walk is the worst thing

The best part about Spatial Audio is how you can disable it.

@SnazzyLabs I find head tracked audio quite good for watching shows through headphones. Music with Dolby Atmos is awful on headphones, but great in a proper home theatre room. I wonder if Apple could make the settings any more confusing.

@johny_5_alive @MissJilianne Generally the thinking is that foreigners can “afford” prices that locals can’t. The Kruger National Park (South Africa) is $35 for tourists and $8 for locals. So, 4 times the price.

I think it’s disgusting the United States charges $100 per person visiting our country to enter a National Park. Embarrassing too!

I love how MacBook Neo single-handedly disrupted the entire budget laptop market. There’s so many sub $700 windows laptops coming in but none of them seem like a well-rounded quality product compared to Neo.

@durreadan01 It’s just astonishing how good Apple’s marketing is. A better product was sold for all of 2025 for exactly the same price and yet that didn’t mysteriously didn’t “disrupt the entire budget laptop market”. The M1 Air. Extraordinary.

Imagine having such a low view of black people that you just assume the colour of their skin commits them to supporting ideologically corrupt policies. There used to be a word for this phenomenon, but it has fallen into meaningless due to overuse.

It's frankly racist to presume that black people need legislation to make them hireable. They are hireable! It's red-tape and regulations discouraging South African companies from employing people. Remove the red-tape and there will be millions of jobs created overnight.

Essentially wealth taxes. Or taxes on capital. Yet capital is needed for investment that fuels growth. Wealth taxes in SA are folly against the context of low savings, low investment with consequences of high unemployment and poverty. Wealth taxes is the equivalent of eating seeds and then wondering why there are no harvests. The Cape Town equivalent of aPPP (poverty perpetuation policies). The policy is the political response to poverty, which is to help alleviate poverty (which is diverting resources to consumption). Poverty reduction, however, is funnelling resources to investment. SA’s poverty alleviation programs are directly causing the poverty it’s trying to alleviate.

iOS used to be the gold standard for "it just works" reliability, but lately, it feels like a buggy mess. 📉 Every single day there’s something new. I hear so many people blaming the outrageous gas prices on Donald Trump, but here’s a fact for y’all to ponder. Oil just topped $100 per barrel. As of five minutes ago gas is selling for $1.90/litre in my neighborhood. The last time oil hit $100 per barrel was under Stephen Harper, yet gas prices topped out at $1.38 per litre back then. Yes, the Iran war is affecting gas prices, but there’s about 52¢/litre that is the direct result of taxes, environmental taxes, and taxes on those taxes.

Between 1977 and 2009, the second generation had to affirm their citizenship by application and spending a year in Canada.
