@MattMcDonald013 If you’re lucky you can thread a piece of tine through the remaining strings then loop it around the ejector fingers. That can either pull it out or break the strings. 😂
@brodenholland Yeah righto. Looks like there’s plenty of clover in there too? It’s a tricky crop to make the most of in a variable climate. I’ve never been able to get its peak growth to align with grazing pressure.
@cookthomasd Before got rid of our sheep graze and hay but hay only if enough feed which was most years though , now we have no sheep, have had some ajistment but it's a hay crop. In limbo with our rotation trying to see what fits wether we keep doing this or move to more beans or something

Then, as that video goes live, Access G does this.....

@nudenutwa It certainly doesn’t look as good, but height isn’t everything. Sheep can graze good looking vetch down to nothing very quickly but I’m always surprised how well subs handle grazing and how well sheep do on it.
Carry over residual from 24, looks to be depth of sowing related.
This Chemical has a great fit in our current days practices but in my opinion should be no where near barley……. Guess what it is ??
The dust has settled on sowing for the moment. After some teething and setup issues we've been impressed by the new setup.
The Xerion was very efficient, Boss bar was bulletproof, Simplicity gave us lots of capacity and Liquid Systems should give a boost to late germinating crops
Matador wheat with a solid start @ Bordertown south after 17mm over the last few days. Miles ahead of last year when the break didn’t fall until the 14th June.
Have a good hard look at this to get a perspective of the State Govts attempt to rip the guts out of our rural economy
A poorly disguised tax on rural producers

@dyerjonathan Spot on Jono. I’ve been looking for the “right” seeder for years now, and the fact that they’re all so different suggests to me that the perfect seeder doesn’t exist.
So much of my feed is airseeder start-up photos or videos as we roll into #plant25. Am here for it.
Each one is a work of art. No 2 are setup exactly the same. They are all trying to acheive the same thing, but all trying to do different things at the same time.
@AllanRe37703049@AdamMorgan77@LFelmingham I’ve got a ton of Goldie’s for 2025 for this reason. There’s been a few times where spring has favored grain over hay and I like the idea of being able to go either way.
@AdamMorgan77@LFelmingham@cookthomasd Ideal time to consider a couple of newer varieties; Goldie (grain & hay)
Wallaby (Hay) don’t forget the oldie (Brusher)
@MartinMurray_Ag It’s a pain for A-framing behind machinery. With a key, you can leave the Ute on accessories so the steering doesn’t lock on you. Push button’s default to off after a while of being on accessories, so you have to leave the Ute running when towing it.
@Ashley_Jacobs92@agrobaz Calibre is a great versatile variety. With a late break this year and low GSR, it suited the maturity of Calibre much better than the Reilly we had. I’d say quicker maturities would always come out in front on a drier year. Long coleoptile is a bit more forgiving at sowing too.
Calibre got the wood over Scepter in 4 side by side trials by an avg of 120kg higher. Same protein, slightly higher screenings and slightly lower weight in Calibre. This is the last year of Scepter, made it 8 years on this farm and been one of the best.
@agrobaz Hi Barry, is frost pretty common in your peas? I’ve grown them the last two years and had some frost both years. I wondered if I’d be best to sow them earlier to get more biomass so if they get frosted at least there’s a good bit there to bale?
@mattrohde8@LHeuke Blackground has not been kind to canola this year. We’ve got some canola on our heaviest blackground beside a swamp. Similar to you, it emerged in winter then never got going because that west side of the swamp is shaded until midday in winter. False wireworm had a crack too. 🤦♂️
@cookthomasd@LHeuke 2/2 Black ground effected worse, I believe because the small rains didn’t wash it through the profile as much and we ended up with a hot band near the surface where the plants were establishing from.
Canola sown 17th April, suffered pre-em damage and was stagnant throughout winter, considered fallowing paddock 8th August (photo). With sub-soil moisture and good nutrition we let it go, has made a tremendous recovery since then.
