Apparently America’s biggest problem isn’t inflation, housing, healthcare, or corruption. It’s Rajesh on an H-1B writing code for 14 hours a day while waiting 27 years for a green card. Glad we finally found the real enemy.

I’ve been watching the anxiety so many Indians are feeling right now over the new USCIS rules. Let me be direct: I understand exactly how you feel. For the last 12 years, I’ve been stuck in a bureaucratic nightmare with the United States Army. Even after a federal judge ruled in my favor on March 31st and ordered them to fix my records, they still haven’t done so. I know what it’s like to wake up every day unsure if your life is about to fall apart. I know the constant stress of living in limbo, waiting on the government to decide your family’s future. That’s why when I see H-1B visa holders going through the same thing, constantly renewing visas, never knowing if they’ll be forced to leave everything behind. I don’t just sympathize with you. I genuinely understand you. I’ve lived that same uncertainty for years. I’m still living it. You’re not alone.

USCIS can and does already deny people green cards based on any criminal history and whether they are likely to be on welfare. This is why the federal government can deport green card holders for DUIs, marijuana possession, domestic abuse etc. It’s why the federal government can sue you if the person you sponsor for a green card ends up using welfare.

Housing affordability, outsourcing, immigration, and tech hiring have all become emotionally charged issues in cities like Seattle. At the same time, ordinary families buying homes legally should not automatically become targets of hate based on nationality or ethnicity. The bigger debate should focus on: • corporate hiring practices, • visa policy, • outsourcing, • wage pressure, • and housing costs affecting both Americans and immigrants. Sharing for discussion, not hate.
