The Senate unanimously passed the ROTOR Act to address the failures that led to the tragedy on January 29, 2025. While the ALERT Act makes many commonsense reforms, it does not include a critical NTSB recommendation: requiring ADS-B In for all aircraft in high-volume airspace. Any aviation safety bill that the House passes must include rigorous ADS-B requirements to ensure the safety of our skies.

GOOD NEWS: @SenateCommerce passed my legislation, the SAFEGUARDS Act. This legislation makes certain the $5.60 9/11 security fee that passengers pay when they purchase an airline ticket is being invested in improving airport security & efficiency.
I look forward to the passage of the SAFEGUARDS Act by the full Senate to help improve the safety of U.S. airports.

Big news at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport!
Today, we announced the opening of the new U.S. Preclearance facility at our airport, a milestone more than a decade in the making.
Thanks to the partnership and dedication of our airport community, and our U.S. and Canadian government partners, this vision becomes reality tomorrow with our first flight to New York.
Preclearance will deliver smoother connections, new route opportunities, and a more seamless experience for every traveller passing through YTZ.
This is a major step forward for our airport, our city, and the future of travel.
