Today, #IamAPHRC’s Executive Director, @CKyobutungi delivered remarks cross-hub collaboration on climate change and health at the launch of the Pan-African Climate Change and Health Centre during the 2nd Primary Health Care (PHC) Congress. Dr. Kyobutungi highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration among African research and policy institutions to advance the continent’s voice in climate and health negotiations, including mobilizing financing and supporting the implementation of adaptation and mitigation measures. APHRC today joined global partners in launching the $60M Evidence for AI in Health (EVAH) Initiative to guide responsible use of AI in health care at the ongoing AI summit in India. EVAH is a joint initiative by the @gatesfoundation, @wellcometrust, and the @novonordiskfond to generate credible, policy-relevant evidence to support health system decision-making across Africa and Asia. The EVAH Initiative is a global effort to evaluate AI tools in health care and help governments and partners understand what works, for whom, and under what conditions. As EVAH delivery partners, @aphrc and @JPAL will coordinate the application and review process and support study design and evidence synthesis in collaboration with locally led research teams.
