From 2 to 6 March, @AfricaCDC and ASLM conducted a field visit to Uganda as part of the #HERA #PAMTA project — the EU-funded “Partnership to Accelerate Mpox and Other Outbreaks Testing and Sequencing in Africa". The team visited the @cphluganda in Kampala and the Uganda Virus Research Institute @UVRIug in Entebbe, supporting both sites in preparing for the independent validation of locally manufactured Mpox diagnostic kits. Findings will inform recommendations by the Diagnostic Advisory Committee (DAC) of the Africa CDC and support local manufacturers on the path to regulatory approval. This week, joint teams from @MinofHealthUG, @cphluganda, AIDS Control Program & @CDCgov are in all 16 Regional Referral Hospitals for a week-long technical support supervision to strengthen integration of health services under the regionalisation approach. #Thread. 1/5

Regional referral hospitals also received motorcycles to strengthen outreach, support early detection, surveilance and improve sample transportation by hub riders. 4/5

During the visit, @Kabale RRH received a Mobile TB/Leprosy van from @NTRLUg to enhance outreach services and bring care closer to communities. 3/4

Teams are assessing how health services are integrated across TB/HIV, MCH, Malaria, laboratories, data & strategic information, human resources & commodities, with the goal of optimising resources, improving coordination & breaking down silos that weaken patient care. 2/5
