@GlasgowCC can you explain why residents in Cowcaddens are going to have to endure a month of 24 hrs of roadworks? It was bad enough when they started at 8am but it's nearly one am and I've to be up at five and they're digging up the road. And this with zero notice to residents.

@onetakewoop So so sorry darling. Really wish I'd met him. May the angels look after him. Xx

@Peachyfruitcake @KewCogs @WilsonC75HT @waitrose Afraid you're wrong. You can't be stopped unless you're a known shoplifter before you step over the threshold of the store. I'm a trained security operative.
English

@KewCogs @WilsonC75HT @waitrose You can not be guilty of theft until you have passed the last means of payment, you don't technically have to have left the store but it helps a theft conviction if they do. Even concealing an item can't be theft until you have shown you aren't going to pay.

I was in @waitrose Byres Road this evening with my lovely 17 yo niece who was taking a bit of time choosing a present for her granny in the beauty aisle.
All of a sudden there was an announcement over the tannoy instructing security staff to go to the health and beauty aisle MF

@JayneCellis So sad that during such a tough time, @AldiUK had to pile that pressure on him. Hope you are all coping as well as you can and may the angels look after Matthew's dear mum. 💔

I told her that she needed to book her appointments during the work day and I would cover her (i was her line manager). When I got another written warning for that, I quit and told the company I wasn't working forthem they thought it was OK to do that.

The funeral was the next day and I have her that day off a week and told her to take as much time as she needed. After that, she was really quiet at work, and it turned out she needed counseling but couldn't afford private and NHS was during work hours.

If I may offer a possible reason, without voicing any agreement, in the least.
Possibly they were praying that he repents of his atrocities, serves his time in jail (as far too short as I’m sure the sentence is), and withdraws to a hermetic life afterwards.
Through Christ all may be redeemed.
English

Why would any church do that? Did they pray for the victims? Did they even listen to the victims?

Let us pray 🙏

@ObserverGlasgow @NetworkRailGLC @GreggsOfficial Personally I dislike people who try to force their religious beliefs down my throat. Plenty of other shops you can buy cruelly produced meat from. I actively look for non-halal products.

@bilapanenka @CartlandDavid My partner died during covid. At his funeral I sat next to my 20 year old stepson while everyone did the two metre rule. When I got challenged, I told them that they better get the police on standby as there was no way I was letting him sob on his own. Common sense won.

@CartlandDavid Nobody would have forced me to stay away from my mom or dad’s coffin… nobody! I would have put a good fight

@FemaleScotlandV I worked in Bridgeton for about six months last year and just like Possil, where I worked before, I was warned of the dodgy people, the rough pubs and all the dodgy cars. I found both places nothing like that. Yes there's some bad people (both local and not) but that's life.
English

I don’t think that the scale of the problem in the East End and Glasgow itself is manageable for the Police. Most men are carrying weapons, and if they’re not carrying weapons you just have no idea if they are or if they’re not.
There are men getting off of trains at Bridgeton Cross, checking for anyone around, and then crossing the road to do deals with cars which look like they’ve been bought from the scrap-heap.
They then return to the train station and leave, whilst the car speeds off.
Multi-networked organised crime gangs spreading across the whole city.
In the local area we watched large groups of men move from bikes, to motorised bikes and then onto small scrap-heap cars which were easily identifiable due to the nature of the driving displayed.
During that time period my bike was stolen, and a neighbours bike was stolen, with old rusty bikes left in their places.
Now the area is filled with groups of men on foot, and groups of men in these scrap-heap cars.
The cars get better with time, and the rate at which they do seems to be exponential.
There must be money moving around.
Indeed, drug deals and cash exchanges are happening in plain sight - everywhere.
Everywhere.
Slowly the square has become parked on constantly, and it’s lined with barbers and what I presume are money laundering fronts.
Expensive cars parked outside businesses with no business.
Then there’s the men on the drugs.
Drugs, drugs, drugs.
The latest has been cars driven on the pavement by some of these men. I kid you not.
People are petrified.
The place has been transformed almost overnight, and all that the SNP and Labour want to do is to silence you in terms of what you are seeing every day with your own eyes, and hearing.
What you are feeling.
Silencing seems to be their over-riding priority.
